:j Yay have nearly completed 4 days. Started off really easy this morning, I really love the Choc mint shakes. Then went out on an inspection (I work for a Housing Association and I have to carry out inspections on our estates) and on the way, I stopped off at McDonalds because I was bursting for a wee. I got myself a black coffee and my colleague a tea. While I was waiting, I was looking up at all the menus and I didn't even think "argh I can't do this". I don't think I thought anything really - just proud of myself for doing this plan and not going off it for 3/4 days.

I just have 3 days left of this week and then I am over the worst of it.

I am so happy I have finished another day - even surrounded by temptation.

It is so much easier with this site I am telling you!

By the way, are diet coke and diet lemonade "no calorie" drinks??

    Byeeeeeee

    How brill are you doing!

Isn't it just so liberating when you go to places such as McD's and realise you don't have to eat anything? I sure you are proud of yourself and rightly too. I think you are already over the worst bit now but keep your guard up as you never know when you will be caught off guard.

Only Coke Zero is allowed and only one glass. There are some flavours of perfectly clear you can have too. Other diet drinks can knock you out of ketosis. To be honest though I don't think these drinks are a good idea best to stick to water especially until you are firmly in ketosis.

Well done on your first few days you really sound like you are in the zone.

  • The other drinks shouldn't be added until Week 3.

    Coke Zero
    Tesco Diet Coke
    Morrison's Blackberry & Blueberry
    Perfectly Clear Strawberry & Kiwi
    Perfectly Clear Red Apple
    Dr Pepper Zero
    M&S Diet Coke

Any without Citric Acid and only a max of 660mls - so 2 cans per day

  • Why can't you have diet coke?
  • I had a diet coke today in the pub!! Only about 2 thirds of a half pint glass but is that enough to take me out off of Ketosis??!! I am really annoyed and scared now!!!!!

    HHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!

    Don't Panic

You are strong enough to get over this even 'if' it has knocked you out. Drink lots of extra water and hopefully you'll get away with it. But if it has knocked you out then just be strong and you will soon be back in hopefully within a few hours.

Above all don't let this phase you.

  • Diet Coke contains citric acid.

Some folks find that they can drink diet coke and it has no effect on their ketosis but Cambridge say not to have it at all. It is better to err on the side of caution!

  • Have had one of those days where I could have eaten anything and everything - no idea why - just one of those things.
I didn't by the way, just could have done!

It has been atrocious weather today, really dark and dismal - and that does affect me too.

Hope everyone else has had a good day

  • I've been on the Cambridge Diet web site. I've tried to see the forums and there doesn't seem to be anything there? Am I missing something?
