Cheers C&Q! As it happens I do have some more packs of these flavours which I think I will return cos they're minging. My CDC didn't have any leek & potato or vegetable but when I go back I'll see if she's got any in stock. I will give the spicy tomato a go tomorrow & I have some packs of mushroom. I believe in giving stuff a try so I will see how I go.

Eew I am with you there on the soup, I was starving and couldnt even eat it! Some love them though. I might risk trying the leek and potato one one day just to see what thats like:rotfl:

    well hello hello hello!

Hope you have all got through the festive period ok, I have put CD on hold for the festivities.

Im finding a fairly healthy middle ground, still eating the odd chocolate but not eating any pasta, bread, potatoes. I had one potato with Xmas dinner and felt so much better for it.

Ive moved house and lost my old cdc, so need to finds another now that my internet is back up & running. I also need to find the jug for the liquidiser that seems to have vanished!

But Im going back to maintainence asap, I possibly have a bit to lose, but did really well in the sales- plenty of size 8 jumpers for work etc in the next sale for a fiver :T and im now in size 12 jeans ( the tight ones) which im broadly happy with.

I will stick to CD this year!!

Happy new year to you all x

    Great to hear from you!

Am going away for the weekend so will be offline until Sunday evening

 Spicy Tomato not good either!!! I think I'm a shake kinda girl!

So I phoned CDC and I'm off to swap my soups this afternoon. Think I'm going to get tetras as these would be better for work.
  • Hi all,

I started the Cambridge Diet today and I need all the support I can get! I work full time and have 2 children, one is 5 and one is 3. My work is the hardest place to stay motivated because my colleagues celebrate everything with food and just need the simplest excuse to eat eat and eat. Just yesterday for example, the office was FULL of cakes and donuts all day and they did a breakfast run to the cafe in the morning for bacon and sausage rolls. You will be happy to know I did resist but it was SO hard. I LOVE my food and after only a few hours on the diet, I am missing it so much. I also love a few bevvies and already miss that too.

I am however motivated in losing this weight that I have been carrying around with me for the last 10 years. I am sick of feeling fat and frumpy and excited about seeing the results.

So, guess I just wanted to say hi to you all and to let you know that I am really glad I have found this board as everyone around me thinks I am crazy to be doing this plan.

    Hi Jen

Keep it up! It's going to be worth it. My situation is similar to yours. I have two kids (7 & 4yrs) & work and because I'm so busy I eat on the run & I make all the wrong choices. :o

In my office there are loads of what I would describe as feeders, you know mumsy types who say Go on, have a chocolate/cake/sweet/cup of tea (you will, you will, you will - like Mrs Doyle in Father Ted). But is quite empowering just to say 'no thank you', knowing you're going to be healthier/slimmer.

Also I presume you've forked out for at least a weeks supply of CD, well it's not very money saving to spend nearly £40 and have nothing to show for it, is it?:D

So keep your chin up, you can do this and once you see the weight coming off you will feel better.

    Evening all

Well I'm feeling strange today, not hungry, not in ketosis yet (I can tell by my mood) just carrying on with it

I forgot to drink today, I picked up a litre bottle of water while I was shopping but then forgot after that till about a couple of hours ago so I've drank 4 pints in 2 hours  My bladders doing overtime now :rotfl:I get lots of spots due to a condition I have but last time I did Cambridge my skin drastically cleared, I'm sure it was due to all the water I drank, looking forward to the same again this time.

Even managed to do OH food shopping for the week this morning without drooling to much. It feels weird though, I know last time I did the diet I craved food and really felt hungry for the first couple of days. I think it's because I ate everything in sight for the last couple of days before starting the diet so might have delayed ketosis for a while.

Off to bed now, I had a brilliant nights sleep last night for the first time in ages, I have a feeling I will be up a few times tonight to use the loo :o

Yay - In ketosis today - result a la ketostix as I don't really feel any different from previous days. I have for the most part been feeling fine. I am slightly surprised how well my first 3 days have been, I thought I would feel worse, only snag has been that I have had a headache in the evening for the last two nights. I have been drinking plenty of water (bout 3 litres per day), I am wondering if it could be caffeine withdrawal as I have knocked normal tea on the head (don't like it without milk).

Clare LR - glad to hear you're going so well. Keep it up!
  • Hi ladies,

Have just had my morning shake - a mint choc flavour - and I must say, it was actually really nice. My stomach is growling but I don't actually feel that hungry. I remember reading something ages ago about Paul McKenna's tips and one of them was that each time you feel like eating something you know you shouldn't, you should assess the craving. Actually ask yourself, how much do I want it, how will I feel after I eat it? It actually works because that is what I have been doing. I feel so much less bloated today and weigh 4lbs less that I did yesterday although I was SO bloated yesterday due to doing what one of you said you did, eat EVERYTHING in sight in the days leading up to starting the plan. I think the worst thing I am finding is boredom. I realise now why I am overweight. My whole life revolves around eating and drinking:eek: I am either planning on what I am going to eat, eating or drinking! I pop to my mum's and have a glass of wine. I come in at night and have a glass of wine. I go out with my mates to either eat or drink. I meet colleagues at work for lunch. I need to start doing more with my life I think! Anyway, just wanted to say that your messages are so so helpful to me and thanks for the motivation.

Good luck ladies - we can all do it together. ;)

Thats just how I feel on this diet, almost as if I havent got anything to do!

For instance, today being a sunday we would have gone for a drive to the local farm shop and bought a nice joint of meat and veg, then I would have come back, prepared that and read the paper in between, then had dinner about 4ish, cleared up and because Id have eaten a huge meal I'd have no energy anyway. Either that or it would have been down the pub with my friends for drinks and dinner :rotfl:

Instead today I've read the paper and am milling about now wondering what to do with myself

    Glad we're all doing ok!

I still don't think I have reached ketosis yet, last time I could just tell without the ketostix but this time I don't feel any different

Think I need to take up a hobby!

I am the same today. My hubbie is just cooking himself something while I have my soup while typing this. In a while I am going to drive to the shops and buy some papers. I would usually send my OH out but just need something to do! I may do some ironing after that so I have lots of clothes ready for work. Thinking about it, maybe I will get loads of housework and bits done while on the CD! I start a 2-year distance learning course on 21st January so I guess now I will have free time to do it!
