Spoke to my CDC yesterday when he eventually turned up with my exchange of packets. Gave some sort of excuse that he had forgotten  . I asked him about metabolism being ruined and he said it does happen for the first 6/7 weeks that is why they have a management programme which sorts it out. I am still doing it but have been having a very small meal i.e. chicken and salad on some days. He said that is fine and left me with four chocolate bars
. I'm drooling already! lol

5 STONES LOST!0

Well Done CnQ :j :j :j :T :T :T . Brilliant.
Despite having a very heavy cold and cough last week and taking cough medicin and throat sweets and not following it 100% I got on the scales this morning and I have lost one stone in total. So I am very very pleased with myself even though it is coming off slowly I feel very happy. My goal was 2 stone by Christmas and I really really hope I do that despite having quite a few meet ups with various friends over the next few weeks.

5 stone is great, well done to everyone who has lost a bit or more
I'm now on day 7 of SS, I dont have a WI untill next week though as I'm collecting my stash every other week.
I'm already concerned about when I come off SS. I'm either all in or all out, and have very poor discipline0 -
Thanks!
I am aiming for the best part of another 2 stones off before Christmas. 7 weeks at 3lb per week is 21lbs, hopefully might lose 4lbs some weeks too!
Well I have spent 6 hours taking a disabled friend shopping around the Metro Centre at Gateshead today - should have burned off some calories if nothing else!! Pushing a wheelchair at that!
Phil - regarding the future, just take one Step, Cambridge Step at a time. Worry about that when the time comes. Cambridge is designed so that you add various foods & carbs gradually so that you keep fully in control. If you do it the way they say there shouldn't be any problems. I know folks whom have done it and have been fine, with no weight gain to follow.
Lara - well done so far!! It is not easy following a diet when you are not well.0 -
I've done cambridge before, have managed to keep off most of the weight but over the 2 years have put on a stone. Lost 4 last time. Problem was when I started to eat 'normally' again I lost all discipline. Thats where my concern comes from. I'll try following cambridge a little more this time after SS.0

Probably best to cut back on the carbs too, maybe to keep to a low GI eating plan when the Cambridge Steps have finished, perhaps?
Or take up the gym on a regular basis so that it discourages weight-gain.
Hope all goes well for you

well thats me back on the proverbial wagon :j
No idea what I weight what my BMI is, really not bothered! Have got a bit porky since hols tho, I cant evern confess to you lot what I have eaten (its bad) and I, particularly this week, have felt AWFUL. tired, mardy, sluggish. SO I called cdc yesterday and shes squeezed me in for tomorrow :T Ive got a few tetras & 3 shakes left from last time, so Im having a nice vanilla shake to start the day
Im not going to totally SS- I need my tea with skimmed milkbut Im having a day off driving today, so I thought it would be a god day to start, then I have the weekend to get back into it - lie in bed and deal with the harshness.
I havent reduced carbs- as Ive been wavering so much I just snapped yesterday and said "I cant do this anymore iM calling cdc asap"
I have a nice stash of books for the weekend, and me & OH are off to a wedding show on Sunday am so a nice undemanding weekend planned.
Wish me luck:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hope all goes well for you Lyn!
After Cambridge it is better to do a low GI plan altogether. A lot of people find that a normal carb diet piles on the weight, just one of those things. Might help keep your weight off.
This time do work up the Cambridge Steps. I know you couldn't last time due to being on holiday.
Fingers crossed for today for you0
