hey guys! how was everyone's weekend then?
Hope you're all behaving!?
I have been good, pretty active actually!
Ran my 6 miles on saturday, weather was foul by the end, but did it! I am doing a 10k run next weekend so needed to get full 6 miles under my belt to know i could manage it on the day..... (prefueled by 2 jaffa cakes, as am never sure if CD alone will get me through these long runs! doesn't do much harm as burn them right off i'm sure!)
Then i was at bingo on sat night, won £20, which was nice! it's just a local village bingo, £5 for everything and include a cuppa tea...! I resisted the lure of jam donuts to go with my tea.... imagine my distress when i realised that some of the donuts were apple... i could have cried!! but i resisted!
sunday was a long lie, followed by a 1km run with Erin, i have a 5k at the end of the month at Balmoral Castle, and there is a kids 1.5km run.. so Erin is entering it... i figure it would be good for her to see exercise as the norm, not a torture method as i did as a child! so she is doing a little training, so she doesn't struggle on the day.... as really she'll be running for maybe 12-15 mins non stop at a slow steady pace... so i want her to be able to manage it.... then we went swimming but y'know how it is with kids, not much swimming gets done!!! lol!
She fancied an ice cream afterwards so we went to beach ice cream shop, she got a cone which comes with all sorts of trimmings, i got a cappucino and we walked along the beach a while... better than than ice cream mess in my car... (see more restraint on my part, all i wanted was an ice cream really!!)
home after that to do housework, change beds etc.... then took our 2 springer spaniels, and mum and her jack russel in the car for a walk in the woodland park...
It's amazing what you can cram in when MSE is not working!!! lol!!!
ooooh and i meant to say, when we went to swimming i weighed myself, sneakily, and it said 13stone 4lbs... it was 13 8 on thursday night... i think it is post TOTM water loss but hey, i'll take it, should be a good loss by the time next sundays weigh in comes... well as long as i behave!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Good Morning Everyone,
Happy Monday Morning, a new week for everyone.:j
Hope you all had a very good weekend with no cheating.
Oh dear, I don't think I like the soup. Tried Leek and Potato, which is one of my favourites when its home made in "real life". I couldn't finish it, also tried Oriental Chilli, this was slightly better, maybe because I wasn't trying to compare it with anything else - I think because you can just knock back the shakes as they are cold , you don't need to like them so much.
After looking forward to the porridge so much, I wasn't overkeen, but I can eat it, fortunately its only a little bit once its made up.
So I think I will stick to the shakes, and next week might try some bars.
Well I have to say I am very impressed with myself. 10 days now and I havent cheated once, and I am feeling more positive than ever.
The biggest difference I can see between this and other attempts is that by reading and posting here I can see just how well others are doing, and that you can stick to this long term and you can make good losses when you do. I also don't want to come and tell you I have caved in.
(Hubby has had a bad weekend and I still didn't give in - I even drove to KFC for my son and mother on Saturday and still didn't give in.):A
Feeling very good and strong willed today - long may it continue - there is a long way to go yet!!!0 -
Wow Maz, I am really impressed with your running.
I think I remember reading you only started last year??? Is that correct? and now you are running 10miles. Thats amazing well done, and if you don't mind me asking, were you reasonably fit before you started running or have you built this up from scratch?
I spent a few hours in the garden yesterday, cutting down overgrown trees, which was hard work, but I would love to be able to run, it always looks so effortless to others, but I just seem to end up like a wreck after about 30 seconds.0
