what about getting your sweet fix from water with the flavourings in it Keywee...? i find it satisfies my want for a can of fizzy drink, which was my real hard habit to break.....
Or if you're not on flavourings yet, i think it might be week 3.... have a sneaky can of coke zero and see if that curbs your urges.... it's not strictly allowed but the lesser of 2 evils i'd say, better than a cheese n toast fest!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
on the topic of sweet things, i find i'm getting enough sweetness from the shakes, i'm not keen on the soups..... maybe that's why my cravings are for savory things....
tandoori salmon with leaves sounds lush!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Also on the topic of sweet things, I wouldn't dream of having a piece of fruit whilst on SS+, far too many carbs, yet those vile sweets have got about 4-6g of carbs per sweet! Where's the sense in that? (I promise I am a sensible person).
I've come up with a plan for my days off which are the problem at the moment. I am going to cut a Cambridge Bar up in to small pieces, leave in the fridge, and if I feel the need then at least I am sticking to the diet. The bad part of that is I wont have anything to 'look forward to' in the evening but hopefully that might stop me and make me think.
I do have the water flavourings, and do have it in all my water (think I read somewhere that you shouldn't do that but I can't stand plain water).
I have planned something in my head similar to Duncan. I am doing this for this week, getting weighed next Weds with CDC and then going from there. That way I don't need to get all worked up about how long this is going to go on for, although ultimately I know that's up to me.:rolleyes:0 -
Hi everyone,
Been away for a while but the losses are good. At the end of week 5, 2 stones have gone - I'm on SS+. About 2.5 stones to go.
Keywee and Duncan, I'm just re-reading 'Eating Less' by Gillian Riley. I have felt exactly the way you describe with regard to being out of control around food and this book is helping me. Got mine from Amazon, came in 2 days.
Good luck,0 -
Well done Churchmouse, that is so motivating, 2 stones in 5 weeks. You must be feeling great!:T0

Well done Church Mouse, I'm only on day seven and taking it in short chunks, but if I can do as well as you I will be very happy.:T
I havent read that one, although I have tried the Paul McKenna program, which is all based around eating whatever you like, but eating slowly and stopping once you have had enough. It was actually quite successful and I lost about a stone, I enjoy meditation aswell so initially enjoyed the CD's.
But.....same old story I'm afraid, fell off the wagon and never quite managed to get back on!!!!
My food for thought today, is...
If my 10 year old son weighs about 4 and a half stone and I can't lift him - just think how wonderful I will feel when I have lost the same amount of weight off my own body.;)
Keep up the good work, just having my lunchtime chocolate shake now.0 -
Hi,
It's my first post on this site. I started on the Cambridge Diet two weeks ago and lost 10 lbs the first week, and just 1 lbs at yesterday's weigh in. £35 is quite cheap! It's costing me just under £60 as I have to have four a day (6ft tall).
Thanks!0 -

Thanks Church mouse I've just ordered it. Read a review on another of her books called Willpower, that looks good too.0 -
