Thanks Poggy, Home made Leek and Potato is one of my favourites in "real life" so wasn't too sure but I will give it a try.
I don't really like cup a soup, which is what is putting me off a little.

    thanks for your reply.

everyone's tastes are so different, it's got to be worth trying everything at least once....!!

it still amazes me when people say they love something that i absolutely can't bear!

Hello everyone was just wondering if anyone ever feels a bit queasy the next day after they have ate something. Recently when i have been hungry I've been eating chicken or tuna with lettuce as part of the sole source step b and i always feel sick am hoping this wont be the case when i come of it and start eating normal foods again.

May I ask for any opinions about the Soups.
I was thinking of trying them, any favourites out there.
At least then I can sit with the rest of the family as though I'm having a meal instead of hiding out the way or taking the dog out!!

I am thinking of Chicken and Mushroom and Spicy Tomato, any thoughts very much appreciated.

Chicken and mushroom and potato and leek are ok. Spicy Tomato isn't great. Broccoli and cheese is evil-tasting!

    Hi Everyone

I am not very pleased to be reporting a weight gain this week. I put on 2.5lb at yesterdays weigh in! Really don't know why I did it, (probably because of STS last week, who knows), but I am back on it BIG TIME today. Looking back at how much I cheated, it's a miracle I didn't put on more. Wasn't even satisfied with the weight I'd put on at the weigh in so I came home and had a binge! Why do I do it? I could kick myself this morning because now I've probably got even more to lose to just break even with the weigh in! (I'm too scared to get on my scales, I can't face what they'd say).

What is wrong with me? Why can't I just stick to it?

awww keewee.... i dunno what to say, it's an evil cycle isn't it... I'm no saint when it comes to these things but.......

how often are you binging? and what kinda things are you having? is it full meals or nibbly snacky things?

Maybe at least change the types of things you're eating and limit it to low carbs which although will up your calories might not knock you out of ketosis... if you're still on low cals then you should still lose something...

then once you have made the habit of better food choices, second stage would be to address the actual eating behaviours.. discuss it with your CD and see if you need to get onto the SS+ plan to have an allowed meal... although some of the food on it is by no means delish!

I wanted something last week one night, so i had some cottage cheese and pickled red cabbage last week... both things i would never ever have ate in my life but i enjoyed them at first cause it felt like proper food! yuk by the end though!!!

Keywee - I am a failed dieter. I have been for the last 15 years. Most people that end up on CD have ususally tried many other options.

I can tell you that throughout the last 6 days I have been on highs of "Oh I going to be slim, just like I feel inside" to "I can't go throught the next 4-5 months without a drink, or any of my favourite things to eat. Its a waste of time I might as well just eat again"
This time I do really feel more positive. I am trying to work hard on my compulsions, and that is exactly what knocks me off balance, I get a weak moment when I am fed up and just think sod it. Then regret it afterwards.
This week when I have been a bit lousy,I have been telling myself to finish the day off then see how I feel in the morning, its not worth wasting the last few days. At the start of the new day, I feel more positive, I have made a chart so I can cross off my Successful 100% days in the morning and its working.
It is so hard. Can you offer yourself a carrot to keep you going? Something you can reward yourself with after a fixed time.
There is nothing wrong with you at all, I'd say you were pretty normal!

Maz- Cottage Cheese and Red Cabbage???

Thats enough to make you prefer the shakes:rotfl:

I have decided that I just can't nibble at all this time, its started me off on a downward spiral each time I have done it. However, because I am struggling with the long term thought of not eating I am planning on having a Salmon Tandoori with leaves once I have reached my first target of 1.5 stone or 4 weeks whichever comes first.

Its my carrot, I may find that I won't want it at all, but its keeping me going at the moment and because its "planned" rather than compulsive nibbling I am hoping it works out.:j

Thanks Land of Maz and Duncan for your very helpful replies.

Maz, I start off on horrible, nasty, filling removal sweets! I crave sweet things and when I eat them I can honestly say I get a 'high'. Then in my mind, because I've blown it with the carbs, I go on to whatever is in the fridge or cupboards! I've got to learn that a little lapse is just that and that I don't need to carry on blowing it. (It's always like this, and I say to myself I'll wipe the slate clean and start again tomorrow). I need to change my tactics and you are so right in what you say.

Duncan, your tip about a chart sounds good and to review your feelings the next day is something I will try. The fact that we can't have anything nice for weeks or months is daunting, but thinking about it, what about the lovely slim bodies we'll have. That does compensate I suppose!.

Thanks Guys, you have really put me back on track. This thread is a life saver.:T

Keywee - You sound exactly like me. All the time I am on a diet I crave the things I cannot have, even things I don't normally eat. Then, as soon as I cave in on one tiny thing my brain tells me I've blown it and I might aswell have everything I fancied before starting again!
(I once told a hypontist this during a group weight loss session and she told me I had a problem and should see her for personal sessions:rolleyes: ) (Told you I had tried may things to lose weight:D )

I am not that bothered about sweet things, and have identified my weaknesses. I just like food, not particularly bad food, my usual diet is reasonably healthy, its just too much. I just like the taste and can't stop once I start - to the point where I have made myself ill on occasions.

Thats why this time I have tried to make a consious decision to go for it totally, no cheats, but with a planned reward instead. Trying to not give in to the compulsive eating is pretty hard, and so far the delaying tactic is working. Long may it continue as I have a way to go yet;)
