Cambridge Diet

Hiya all.
I have had a really fbad three days. Toilet problems Im afraid. I have spent hours in tears, because I had a blockage (not nice I know). I have had to use laxatives, suppositries, and just about eveything else. I still couldn't shift it, so today I had about 1/4 of a bowl of Bran flakes with semi skimmed milk and a glass of orange juice, and I had to take the day off work, and I've spent it in bed with a hot water bottle. I think it has eventually shifted, and my stomach feels a little better although is making some crazy noises. I still feel quite sick, but I think this may be because before the food today I have only been able to manage 2 shakes in 3 days.
I am going to give it to the weekend on CD whilst taking Fybrogel, and see how I feel. If I get blocked again I'll have to do the 2 shakes and small meal, because I really can't go through the past few days again.
Sorry for a bit of a horrible post.
Oh God Catty, that sounds just awful. I'm on day 13 and so far, after having to take about 8 laxatives and 6 Psyllium Husk tablets a day for the past 4 days, I've had the tiniest poop in the history of poops and one bout of horrible dioreah. Luckily I don't feel uncomfortable or in any kind of discomfort, but I guess that might change. When I spoke to my CDC about it last Wednesday, she told me to buy some Fybrogel - someone else advised the husks so I've been taking 2 of those with each soup/shake for the past four days, I'm hoping that's gonna sort me out.
Seems to be the worst side effect of this diet.
Apart from that, how are you feeling?0 -
Catty212, just read your post and wanted to sympathize. I'm taking fibersure 3x's a day at the moment but still no real movement for me. Tbh i dont think there is much in there to come out at the moment!!! I have suffered from IBS since my son was born in June and one of the things i was prescribed was glycerin suppositries. Not pleasant but they really, really work and you can buy them over the counter. Just dont stray far from the loo is all i can say:)0

How nice it was to find this thread.
Can I please join you?
I started CD on the 10th March and weighed in today with a 10lb loss.
I felt pretty bad for the first few days but now I feel great. My main problem is bad breath, even though I brush 3/4 times a day, have any of you managed to find a gum or something which does not knock you out of ketosis?0 -

I was feeling fine until all this. I havent had enough of my shakes because I couldnt stomach them, Im hoping I feel ok tomorrow and can get back into them. Im also going to start with the Fibrogel's tomorrow, scared to take any tonight incase I go the opposite way at work tomorrow.Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations0 -

I tried the Glycerine Supps last night ... 3 in a row, and they didn't do much at all. I think what's helped today is the bran flakes and orange juice I had this morning. I felt a little better after eating as well seeing as Ive had very little the last few days.
Im going to see how it goes up until my weigh in on Saturday and if I still feel pants Im going to try and do it with a small meal a day and two shakes.Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations0 -

Well done on your fab loss - you must be very pleased.
Not really sure about the gum. My CC said i could have sugar free gum, but then some people on here have been advised not to, so its probably best to check with CC.If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0 -

hi annie! welcome to the thread... i saw you yesterday on daily chat on DFW board, but wasn't logged in, only lurking!
This is where the Cambridge chat is generally to be found... there are a few of us on DFW chat who do it, but i tend not to bore everyone over there too much with it!
Well done on a brill loss in the first week! nice one!! Re the breath, i sometimes use gum, but i only chew it for about half a minute and chuck it out, as they reckon it can give false hunger signs to the brain or something if you chew repeatedly..
otherwise my CDC says it is acceptable to use gold spot as has no sugars...
personally i don't notice it so much now, except first thing in the morning...
Catty - how are you today?
Hi to everyone else!
I jumped on scales at home, which are usually about 5-6lbs less than CDC's, but i use them to see a downward trend as oppose to getting hung up on the numbers... i was sitting on 13st 7lbs this morning, which would equate to probably 13st 12-13, which would mean a 3lb loss this week, i hope!!
will find out tomorrow! Will be great to be in the 13's!!! Has been a long long time!!! Was 16 stone 8ish at start of January!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
That is amazing Maz. It seems such a long way away for me at the moment. I feel like i have had the longest 2 weeks ever. Let us know when you wi.If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0
