    Hi All

Shame we cannot communicate other than on here though - has anyone else managed to find a way of contacting others without posting personal details? (My counsellor is OK, but hasnt bothered to ask how I am getting on etc. and doesnt seem to have hardly any stock other than things I am not keen on and I really am not very fussy. She has gone away for a fortnight, fair enough, we all have holidays, but I think I will try and transfer to another counsellor (there are lots in my area) if I can.
Has anyone else managed to do that? When you register you arent given anything to say you have paid the registration fee or completed the form - at least I wasnt - was anyone else?
I didnt need GP permission so perhaps that is the difference?

Seantra - I have just sent you a pm.....

Did you pay a registration fee! I didn't I just paid for my meals.....

When i move up to 810 i then use a soup sachet for tea, i make half up into a cup a soup before my meal, then the other half i make into a thickish paste like gravy and i pour it over my chicken and veg, so there not dry.

    Good idea!

Well i'm into day 7 and feeling a little bit blue, mainly due to how busy work is but I've weighed myself this morning. I haven't looked all week as I guessed my weight would be up and down with all the water.

So 7 days on and i'm really shocked to have gone from 19stone 2pounds to 18 stone exactly.

I know it's the first week and a alot of that will be carbs & water but surely some of it will be fat?

    Really chuffed :)

    Chris

AND SO YOU SHOULD BE!!! Wow, well done. Once you're in ketosis the weight will continue to drop off. It's amazing when you see such a dramatic loss and keeps you going. Imagine how long this would have taken with the more 'conventional' diets that are being advertised on the TV at the moment.

Well done again and here's to a continued great weight loss!:T

  • Ok Guys have been lurking re CD lots of info and tips on here you are all great.
A couple of questions however maybe I have already missed this one - do you have to have a check with your doctor before starting? I am so keen to start but need to asap or may find yet another excuse not to.
And any thoughts on the Diet Chef? this is another option I have been looking at.

Hi, you only need to consult your Doctor and obtain his agreement if you're on medication or have any contrindications i.e heart disease, diabetes, kidney problems etc.

I've heard of diet chef but haven't really looked into fully. At least with this diet if you're doing Single Source (SS) you don't have to worry about what you're going to have during the day - it's a case of 3 CD meals (or 4 if you're over 5ft 8in) and tonnes of water!

Good luck whatever you decide (but I'm bias and think CD is great so give it a try).:p

well good luck to you all for the coming week.

I've had a naughty weekend, started on tue back on cambridge, just to shift the christmas half a stone, then friday my wedding anv, hubby made sure that we went out, and it went downhill from there.
ended up drinking and eating out again last night, and had sunday dinner today.

But i've got my sachets ready for tomorrow and i can't wait to start.

And i'm back on the wii as well

    good luck all of you.
  • Hi,

My 'New Years Resolution' is to lose weight before I start University in September, and I've looked at a few diets and am most interested in the CD. The problem is with other diets is that they aren't structured and I need a strict guideline to follow and that way I believe I will be able to follow the diet to the tee.

I am tallish at 6ft 2inches, and at the moment am 17St. 8lbs. I need to lose around 3.5 Stones (but less if I'm happy, I have quite a muscular structure, very broad shoulders and my arms/legs are very muscly), my main problem is my belly, 'man-boobs' and butt :D

My question is... I would really like to start and have read everything on the Cambridge Diet website, but am unsure about the Councillor part - I don't really think I'll benefit much from one - but I am aware that they are the Sole suppliers, would one simply act as a supplier for me or is this against CD regulations, and if I do need to meet with the Councillor, how much do they generally charge???

Thanks For Any Help You Can Give,

    Gareth

    Hi Gareth

Well done on doing your research, so many people don't before they start on a diet.

If you have the willpower and determination to follow the strict diet, then it will work for you.

You will lose weight and inches from everywhere, but the hardest part to get rid of is the dreaded jelly belly, best for this is excercise, i'm sorry to say, so a bit of work on this area combined with the diet will work wonderfully.

Regarding a councillor, yes your right they are the only source of supply.

They have been trained by cambridge and know there stuff.
On your 1st visit, they tell you about how the diet works, but if you have done your homework this is easier,
they weigh you and work out your bmi, which you can do yourself before you go,
you then buy your sachets soups/shakes from them.
    I pay £35.70 a week for 21 sachets,
as a man you need to have 4 sachets a day so your cost would be a bit more.

Then i just go back each week and visit my leader, she weighs me, and we have a 5 min chat about how the week has been, and that is it for us.

It sounds i'm a bit like you i didn't fancy the councillor bit, was thinking it was going to be a drawn out affair, but it wasn't. I'm usually there for around 20 mins and we have a nice little chat.

    Take a look here

good luck, i'm back to day 1 after my anniversary weekend. lol

Hi there, I am seriously considering CD as i am exercising like a maddie and not really seeing results. Run 2-3 times a week (2-3 miles a time), swimming 2-3 times a week (1-2 proper swims before work and 1 swimming for fun with DD)

I am changing shape with exercise plan, but have been doing this level of activity since summer really and am not getting weight loss results to match my effort... so after hearing how well sammy is coping i thought i would come over from DFW board, and see if i could get more info....

I currently weigh 16st 5lbs and this has come down from over 17stone last summer, but really it is too slow. although i don't doubt i am much fitter than i was, and probably fitter than a 16stone woman should be... i just want to be slimmer and healthier.......

I've looked into the CD and feel, like Sammy, i need my choices taken away really as i tend not to make brill food choices.... i know what i should be doing.... but i think i need more drastic measures!

In october i came off my contraceptive implant, as i thought maybe it was hormones which were keeping my weight up.... no discernable difference really (maybe helped shift that last 5lbs?)

So before chistmas i cut back on my massive consumption of diet fizzy drinks, again no discernable weight loss... but maintained same over Christmas so maybe a good thing. No in fact, definitely a good thing, i am drinking loads more water and my skin is great... better than it ever has been!! I am down to 1 can a day, which is really amazing for me, as was easily drinking 8 a day... better for bank balance too!

All this water and very little fizzy diet juice has proved to me that i have the will power when pushed.....

I have emailed my local agent/counseller but am waiting on a call back.... i am going to go for it!

Given i am already exercising, i assume i am okay to carry on doing the same level... although TBH if i start losing, i mean WHEN i start losing weight i will happily drop one of the run sessions as i'm sure i could use the time more productively at home... at the moment i'm busting a gut to get results, but it's kinda selfish so would like to cut it back a little......

Sorry for my ramblings... this is my way of saying hello
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
    (it's part of my charm!)
