Hi all,
I am on day five now (I started on Monday) and I have to say it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I am in ketosis now as I've pee'd on the sticks they indicate I am and also my breath isn't the nicest.
I am hungry but alot of the time I am hungry through habit as opposed to actually being hungry. Like "ooh it's 11am, I usually have a coffee and and a chocolate bar"
Today has been tough at work. Someones birthday, lots of cakes and lots of people saying "Oh go on, one won't hurt"- I didn't indulge though :T
The hardest part is trying new flavours and finding you don't like them. I am quite a fussy eater and so thought I would only be able to stomach the strawberry and vanilla shakes. The fruits of the forest made me gag.
I then tried the soups and I love the Chicken & Mushroom, Vegetable & Leek and Potato. I just tried the Oriental Chilli and that also made me gag. I think I am just going to go on the soups now as although the shakes weren't disgusting I had to force them down where as I enjoy the soups.
I am not having my first one until 1pm > 4pm > 7pm > 11pm. I do get headaches in the evening and quite cold. Then I realise "D'oh, I've had no water for an hour or so".
How are other new starters doing? How are you finding the flavours? What has been your best flavour worst flavour? When are you having yours? To say I am up at 7am I am surprised I am managing to last until 1pm.

Wow! What an inspiration you are! Congratulations on doing so well, you must feel truly wonderful.
Bet you love clothes shopping now?!!!
PS How about changing your username on here to something like 'Slim for life!'
Thank you! Yes, do feel wonderful although I must forwarn you all about what people are like when you lose weight! If I've been asked once I've been asked a hundred times whether I've had a gastric band fitted due to my weight loss since July!!!! How cheeky! And you tend to find - well for me anyway- that your friends change all of a sudden as you're no longer the 'fat friend' and you're the one receiving compliments when you go out. One of my friends told me I looked old now that I've lost all of my weight! Basically she was miffed that I'm now wearing a smaller size than she is!
It's cost me a fortune in relplacing my wardrobe but it truely is a wonderful feeling being able to go to ANY shop - not just outsized shops - and being able to buy clothes at a reasonable price. Spent a fortune in the sales and I was able to buy some gorgeous dresses from Monsoon for my holidays. Felt so good. I used to hide the size of my hangers when I was walking around the store but now I show everyone as I'm really proud of myself and what I've achieved.
One thing though - I keep a picture of myself at my biggest, basically the photo that made me go on CD - on my fridge to remind myself NEVER to let myself get that big again! I'd not long had my second DS and I thought I looked ok but when I see it now I'm absolutely disgusted that I let myself get that big.
Honestly - this diet is amazing and if you stick to it rigidly you'll lose the weight in no time. Or, if you do what I did and still have the odd night out and holiday then it will take a little longer but the results are the same. Also, what helped me is I have a fantastic CDC and I couldn't have done it without her support and inspiration.
Good luck everyone and keep coming on this forum as it's great when you're going through a hard period.:TLBM 1st May 2012 £53,839

well done all on your weight loss and good luck to all of you on your journey
I did cambridge for the 1st time, back end of last year, i wanted to loose 2 stone, managed to get rid of 1 1/2, which i was very pleased with, this took me up to the 1st december.
Through december i managed to maintain, without cambridge, as there were partys and nights out to do,
over 2 weeks at christmas i have ate and drank anything and everything in site.
Well i put on 9lb, which i'm very pleased with.
I started cambridge again on tuesday doing ss+ was doing so well, up to and including yesterday,
which was my wedding anv, hubby came home from work and demanded we go out for tea, well i was in no position to argue, it was our anv, so off we trotted to the indian, had the korma as it's all i like and the fattest, got a bottle of wine and ate that,
hubby was real pleased last night that i'd had more than shakes on our anv,
well now i'm back on track i know i will be out of keotosis, but there was nothing i could do.
I'll keep you informed of my weight loss and good luck to you all.0 -
I am on day 3 and i am doing a flavour check, I prefer the shakes as I think the soups taste of warm nothing...I have had butterscotch, vanilla and banana shakes and love them, soups i have had chicken and mushroom and the leek and potatoe...I have had ready made banana and strawberry for lunches and they give me wind....
didn't get the porridge cos i don;t like porridge but that is two people who have told me its yummy so will try tomorrow. not finding the diet to bad tbhQuality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

I actually like most of the shakes, except forest fruits, argh
in the soups i'm not to keen, usually stick to chicken and mushroom and veg.
don't do the chocolate bars, cause there is no way i could stop at 1.
When i move up to 810 i then use a soup sachet for tea, i make half up into a cup a soup before my meal, then the other half i make into a thickish paste like gravy and i pour it over my chicken and veg, so there not dry.0 -
Hi All
I'm now in day 4, have not cheated at all and feel fine, but was struck with sudden tiredness this afternoon and took a one hour nap!! Also feel very very cold, despite heating on full blast, fire on, lots of clothes etc. but it is still worth the effort.
Have done the test and am now in ketosis which was my first target. Second target is to stick to it for a week. To think long term is just too daunting, so I like to set myself shorter targets. When the weight loss starts to show, that will become further targets etc.
If I think I might weaken, I keep an image in my mind of myself slim and shopping for new clothes and try to imagine what styles I might choose and that takes the edge off for me.
Tiredmumof2 - Thanks for the warnings! Have to say that any 'friends' who cannot congratulate you on your amazing success may not be such good friends after all. I dont imagine I will have the 'gastric band' questions as I only have 3stones to lose - listen to me - ONLY!! Yikes 3 stones is enough but you know what I mean.
Sammy115 - Glad to see you are doing well, keep going gal!! Well done!
Shame we cannot communicate other than on here though - has anyone else managed to find a way of contacting others without posting personal details? (My counsellor is OK, but hasnt bothered to ask how I am getting on etc. and doesnt seem to have hardly any stock other than things I am not keen on and I really am not very fussy. She has gone away for a fortnight, fair enough, we all have holidays, but I think I will try and transfer to another counsellor (there are lots in my area) if I can.
Has anyone else managed to do that? When you register you arent given anything to say you have paid the registration fee or completed the form - at least I wasnt - was anyone else?
I didnt need GP permission so perhaps that is the difference?0 -

Well i'm into day 7 and feeling a little bit blue, mainly due to how busy work is but I've weighed myself this morning. I haven't looked all week as I guessed my weight would be up and down with all the water.
So 7 days on and i'm really shocked to have gone from 19stone 2pounds to 18 stone exactly.
I know it's the first week and a alot of that will be carbs & water but surely some of it will be fat?
Really chuffed
