I did the Cambridge diet for about 4/5 weeks back in the Summer, went through a badtime, came off it and couldn't get back into it. I had lost a stone on it aswell. It's a good diet, you need the willpower to see it through to the end though!

My CDC was VERY obese, in the 20stones at any rate. I just don't see how you could sit and listen to advice from someone who is bigger than you. Mine also admitted she came off cambridge at weekends so she could go out and get drunk....!!

Living without the food is hard, though I did love those bars! I still have about 2weeks stock of cambridge in my cupboard which I may use up, before xmas!

I've just stuck to normal dieting and lost over 3stone in 3months, about the same as the Cambridge, I'm happy on this, though I understand why cambridge is more appealing to some = takes the element of food out!

Just wanted to congratulate everyone on their weight loss as it's not easy to do.

Had an absolutely fabulous time at Conference. Just got home!

Am really looking forward to next year's Conference too.

The Conference was very well put together and very entertaining - which was surprising. Thought it might be a bit stuffy. Had some great conversations and a fab Dinner in the evening.

Great items in the goody bag.

Some really dodgy boob jobs on show though : (

Really surprised how really obese some of the CDC's are. Thought that they would be kept under some sort of control by Head Office. Slimming World and Weight Watchers both keep a track of the weights of their Counsellors.

Back on SS as of yesterday, will do that until Christmas Eve and see what happens!

    Interesting post.
You do realise some CDC's read this forum don't you?? I may or may not be a CDC for example.
Although I am not obese, its a personal matter regarding weight. Whilst I agree that there is an image to maintain, sometimes personal circumstances do not make that possible.
  • Just a personal observation, that's all

As I said both Slimming World and Weight Watcher Counsellors have to keep their weight under a certain BMI in order to continue with the work

You have no right to make personal statements about anyone regardless of their occupation. I have a number of very good friends who are/have been CDC's and their weights have fluctuated. BUT that has not made them bad people, or bad counsellors, because they have been honest with their clients, if anything it makes them BETTER counsellors.

As for the comment about the boob job....that is pathetic!

Enjoy your weight loss and what it has done for your life, stop !!!!!ing about others!

    Just my two-pennorth worth!
  • My own CDC attended the Conference for the first time too.

Apparently the CDC's are to keep their weight at a BMI of 28 or under.

It would seem that most of them don't bother.

I do think that this isn't good for Cambridge itself, particularly since a lot of people are worried about regaining the weight after finishing the diet.

As a counsellor my weight has never been monitored. Maybe you should try to look in the mirror before you start criticizing people on a public forum From what I have seen of your posts YOU are not good for Cambridge. Oh and that's just me making a personal observation

This is a good point. I found losing the weight the easy part. Maintaining it is a whole different ball game

I object to people cheating then openly bragging about it.

Thank goodness my CDC has never allowed me to cheat!

No am not at target yet. So no not maintaining.

If I had gone to my CDC the first time and found her to be overweight/obese it would have totally put me off the diet.

There have been comments on the pink site about folks going to CDC's and discovering that they are obese and then complaining about it.
