For a man on Sole Source the diet is 4 meal replacements per day
Or you could do SS+ with milk which is 4 CD replacements plus a milk allowance
Or you could do SS+ which is 3 replacements plus a meal of protein and veg
Or 810 which is the same as SS+ with a higher quantity of protein and veg
If you are taking any medication, have a health issue or have a BMI over 40 you need to have a Medical Form signed by your GP - available from a CDC.
As to the length of time, it depends how much weight you need/want to lose.
Cambridge say around 14lbs loss per calendar month on SS. Men lose weight a lot faster than women anyway due to the higher metabolism.
A guy on one of the Forums lost 6 stones in 9 weeks. A male friend of mine lost 3 stones in 6 weeks on SS about two years ago.
Do make an appointment with a CDC and have a chat.

Its a different diet. Cambridge is specifically distributed through CDC's so you can be monitored on the plans.0 -

Hi all,
have to say I'm very shocked at the last couple of pages and the comments that have been made. Can we just leave all this !!!!!ing and remember what this forum is - a support network for people who are battling with their weight and looking for some moral support from others who have been/are going through the same problem?
I've used this forum as an area to look for inspiration when things have been going down hill but I have to say I don't think I'll come back or post a comment on here again after reading some of the posts, which, to be honest, the content of which are absolutely apaulling .
Sad day ladies and gents - lets hope we can all sleep at night after what's been said on here.LBM 1st May 2012 £53,839

Yes she has gone very quiet. And the last post was right about what a forum is supposed to be. The only difference is this woman has upset soooo many people over various forums to the point where it can no longer be ignored.0

Totally agree and the modertors on the other forums have done their best, but this time it is in writing so we can all see what she is saying. Not threats by pm's, this is out in the open.
Well done to the people it was directed at for not getting involved in a slanging match it shows how much of a better person you are than her.
Let all the forums go back to what they used to be for, support and encouragement, not one persons vendetta against excuse the words here 'obese CDC' 'boob jobs' etc. NOT MY OPINION.Independent Cambridge Counsellor0 -
Hi Everybody - am a bit confused by the posts here, think there is a whole story going on that I don't know about or understand! What I have picked up though is that are a number of cambridge forums about can anybody tell me which are the best ones for support and inspiration?
Also I have lost 6lbs this week which I am really pleased about having lost 1-2lbs at weigh in for the past 3 weeks. However .. the weeks I haven't lost very much are the weeks I've been exercising doing a yogalates class once a week and an exercise dvd 3 times a week. I have never exercised before. This week I was unable to do any as I felt too rough from having a heavy cold. Can anyone tell me if the slower weight loss is due to the exercise? I don't think I've been doing anything that builds much muscle, its been more cardiovascular. And any advice about whether to carry on exercising. My husband thinks I should as he says probably rightly that health is more important than weight loss, but I really want to get the weight off as quickly as possible and am wondering if I should pack it in until I'm nearer target. I've lost 3 stone and have another stone and a half to go if that makes any difference?
Any advice - greatly appreciated!0 -

The two main forums are
http://www.cambridgedieters.com/forums/ (owned by Cambridge)
and
http://www.minimins.com/
Both fab forums. The cambridge one is smaller, but just deals with the Cambridge Diet, Minimins is huge and covers everything from Cambridge, Slimming world, weightwatchers, weightloss surgery etc. You name it and there's a forum for it
Lots of counsellors on both forums. Great advice and support. Also I have lost 6lbs this week which I am really pleased about having lost 1-2lbs at weigh in for the past 3 weeks. Can anyone tell me if the slower weight loss is due to the exercise? And any advice about whether to carry on exercising. Exercise is really important, though weight loss will happen without doing much, so I wouldn't want to discourage you, but if you are finding it's coming off too slow with the exercise, and your priority is to get to goal, then maybe cut it down a little. You wouldn't want to go crazy anyway on so few calories.
I get your point about your husband considering health more important than weightloss, and totally agree, but it wont take you long to get to goal now, so maybe just some gentle exercise until then, then once at goal and introducing more calories, hit the gym or whatever you fancy for long term maintenanceCambridge Weight Plan Consultant0 -
