Just popping back to see how everyone's doing. I finished CD in June 2008, having lost 5 stone over 5 months. I am still maintaining after losing another 1/2 stone once i finished CD, as I continued to explore what and how much food my body needed. I'm still best of friends with my scales and I'm not frightened to weigh myself like I was pre-weight loss. My mum, Auntie, best friend and 2 cousins have all started CD and lost weight. They tell me i'm their inspiration - which is so wonderful.
What I dont get is that when I was a size 20 all the clothes in shops seemed to be size 10/12. Now i'm a size 10/12 everything seems to be size 18-20!!
So please you are nearly there cute n quirky, you've had one heck of a journey.
Happy CD-ing everyone xProud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
Great to see you here!
Yes I know what you mean about the clothes sizes!
Mine has been an amazing journey and I have enjoyed every day of it.
Now on the last leg
12 STONES GONE !!0 -
Day 1
Thursday 25th September.
I woke up very positive and even though DH woke me with a coffee with added milk I left it and made black coffee. I did not enjoy this as I suppose when you have had it with milk for 25 years its going to take more than 1 drink to get used it it.
At around 10 I was hungry so headed for my shake mixes to choose a flavor. Vanilla was selected and I tired to use a had whisk but it remained very lumpy so I got he electric whisk out and this helped but it was still had lumps.
I Drank it but it was not nice. I am not a milk/ shakes person but this is a means for energy supplies so it went down.
I was not looking forward to my next shake so even though I was really hungry I just drank the water and delayed it until around 4 when I thought I had better have it in order for shake 3 to be had later.
I went for the chocolate this time and used the electric whisk again. Still lumpy. I gagged all the way through. I am going to swap the choc ones!!
I was feeling hungry and could not stop thinking about the diet so I went to the town.. This turned out to be a great idea as it really did break the day up and take my mind off it.
I got a ready meal from M and S for the family whilst here so I did not have to think about food for today.
At around 8 my body was wondering where its glass of wine was so as a treat I went have my last shake. Strawberry this time. I used the stick hand blender to mix which worked perfectly. No lumps!! This was ok but I really do not like the shakes. I will just have to get used to it. I think of it as means to energy and not food.
I had a long bath and an early night and have woken up very positive again.
This will work!

Hi Nikki
And welcome to the world of cambridge, if you dont' mind me asking how much weight do you want to lose.
It does get better, i actually mix my shakes with a bit of water 1st go get them into a thick paste.
And i dont' mind them, much prefer them to the soups.
Well me what happened to me.
I did 3 weeks of ss then i had 9 nights in turkey, came home and i'd only put 5lbs on, god only knows how.
was going to go back on the diet last tuesday, as i've another stone to loose.
But it's hubbys birthday tomorrow and he had a fit, he's not to keen on the diet as it is, as he wants to go out for a nice meal, and wants me to eat.
then we have family round on sunday for a big dinner for his birthday, again he said he didn't want me having my shakes.
So i decided that this week i would eat healthy, and start on monday.
Well this didn't happen, i've eaten all sorts of rubbish this week honest, even polished of 2 bottles of wine.
i just can't wait for monday to come.
I'm like a hoover and i'm looking for stuff to eat all of the time, i never did this on the cambridge, and i actually loved drinking water, now i'm back into the diet coke:o
I didn't actually lose a lot of weight in my 3 weeks, then again i didn't have a lot to lose, but i lost inches,
make sure that you take your measurements and re-do them again after each weigh-in
then you will see the difference.
good luck and keep us informed.0 -
Now working on the last 20lbs - can't wait
Just 5lbs to a BMI of 29.9 - bring it on
Have been on 810 (without the milk allowance) for two weeks now and loving it!0 -

Thanks for your support. Have just had another vanilla one made with a lot of crushed ice and mixed in the blender and it was ok. Well no gagging anyway. I am 5'7 and weigh 14 stones. My CDC did all my measurements but with this amount of weight to I hope for weight loss as well as inches.
I agree about not thinking about food as much on the diet. I am a hoover but the no room for error approach to this diet takes that away. Just shows how much a weight gain is to do with how we think about food.
I am off to my dads caravan this weekend who will not understand what I am doing but thats his look out I intend to stick at it.
Monday is almost upon us.... go for it.

I'm on day 5 of the Cambridge, and while I'm not really hungry I can't stop thinking about food, does this anyone know if this passess after a while?
Also does anyone know what the average weight loss is after the first week? x0 -
Yes it does pass. It is just the mind playing tricks. By week 3 when you can have the bars you get something to chew on, which helps
Weight loss in the first week can be from 2lbs to 22lbs and anything in between. We just have to wait and see.
Good luck.0 -
Thanks for that, I lost 9lbs in the first week which I'm pleased with, what's the average weight loss a week after this?
Also do you know why you can't drink diet pop and can you drink sparkling water?
By the way am really impressed by your weight loss, did you manage to stick to it 100% of the time or have you had slip ups but managed to get straight back on the diet? I'm just a bit worried about being able to do this for a good few months!0
