Hi Aislinn, It does get better, honestly. I started CD 4 weeks ago and at first i found it quite hard. I had indigestion for days and felt a bit yuk after having my shakes. People on here said 'it does get better', so i stuck with it. I have now lost nearly a stone and a half! I feel much better on it now and the visible difference is amazing.0

Got weighed this evening and I've lost 6lbs already so I'm feeling quite chuffed about that and thinking maybe it is all worth it.
Does the weight loss slow down – does anything speed it up?
I am due to have a hysterectomy soon and was hoping to loose 3 stone in 6 weeks is that doable?
Does exercising speed up the weight loss? I'm normally a gym junky but had started bulking out and with feeling under par this week I haven’t been.
Are there anyways of livening up the diet?
Does anyone know the difference between this and Slimfast?
Sorry for all the questions – its just that all non CD people think I’m mad for doing it…………….0 -
I would say that 3st in 6 weeks, although possible is not probable (if it is 6 weeks from now I would say more likely to hit the 2st + mark).
Excercise usually slows down weight loss slightly (though not a lot) as you convert fat to muscle which weighs more, first few weeks take the gym easy & listen to your body!
The diet will do it's own thing, stick to SS 100%, if you avoid the bars & MAM etc it may give you a slight benefit (it depends upon the person) also the more you drink the quicker a lot of people seem to lose it.
CD is 100% nutritionally complete, so you get everything your body needs every day. Slimfast is not! With slimfast you must have food as you are not getting everything your body needs.
Stick at it, it works so well...
Good luck
Nicky

I think that the key to sticking to the diet is knowing when your ‘weak’ times are ie when you are most likely to nibble. Mine is in the evening so I’ve dragged my sewing machine out again and made fabric shopping bags each evening. Sounds a bit sad I know but it’s reducing my need to use plastic bags and keeps me busy.
Preparing food for others and not picking must be torture but you have done so give yourself a pat on the back for that.
Luckily my husband has been doing all the foody stuff for the family like food shopping, cooking, washing up etc this week.
I have also been rewarding myself for every couple of days that I have done – but not with food for a change!!!!! I’ve bought a new purse and a bunch of my favourite flowers this week.
The thing that you have to wee on is a stick to test if you are in ketosis – it’s what people who are diabetic use. Once in ketosis you begin to lose weight when on the CD? Not sure of the science – sorry.
Anyway try and stick it out even if it’s just until you have used the sachets that you have already bought.
Good luck

Thank you!
Whilst I was too heavy to start with I gained weight through being ill, unfortunately. I developed RA and by the time I was diagnosed I could hardly walk or do anything else. Started the medication almost two years ago, then Cambridge within 10 months.
The Cambridge Forum is a great source of support for me.
Hope all goes well for you!

hiya cute & quirky and aislinn
thankyou for the support so far, i think once i get used to this diet i will be okay. im a pretty determined sort of person usually but with food inside me!!!!
i am determined to keep going as i have read through most of this thread and the determination shown by others i know i can get as well if you know what i mean.
it is hard with a family as well as i dont do ready meals i usually cook from scratch so i cant expect the family to eat readies when they are used to home cooking and so im finding this the hardest part.
we are off out to a party tonight as well and everyone will wonder why i aint drinking, i dont really want to tell the world and his wife what im doing but its hard on social occasions. could really do with not going but will have to.
going to do the garden today to keep busy and not think about food so much. i will treat myself every week when i lose weight but the only trouble is i treat myself all the time anyway lmao.
hope everyone has a food free day xxxxxxxxx0
