  • What about having a dose of gastro-enteritis so that you can eat nothing/very little.

You could always have a few bits of chicken and veg from a bowl - and nothing else!

FF, I had to go to meal out on my day 14 & I worried about it up to the day, unfortunately I could not get out of it. So I went & I ordered fizzy water. Yes some people may of thought I was a bit strange but the people that mattered knew why I wasn't eating & were just glad to have my company. Also I felt great the next day as I knew I'd stuck to my guns.

I want to lose the weight but life goes on whilst I'm doing it. Only yesterday I was at lunchtime do & there was a spread laid on (grilled prawns, chicken & shish kebabs, lovely open sandwiches on small bagels, yummy!) People asked me if I was having anything but I just said no & if anyone has a problem with me not eating at a social event it's their problem not mine. You shouldn't have to justify your actions as they have no effect on anyone else in this instance.

Admittedly I am tempted to eat by the yummy food in these situations, what stops me? I suppose it's the same thing that stops me from making a bolt to the kitchen right now & ramming a packet of the kid's sweets or chocolate down my throat. I really want to succeed because I am sick of being fat!!!

Finally if you're really not comfortable telling anyone what you're doing I'd suggest you use C&Q's suggestion of gastro bug or say you're going to arrive late as you are double booked that night. Then when you arrive say you've already had to eat a mountain of food at previous engagement but you will join them for a drink. Good luck what ever you do, I'm sure you'll stay strong!

hi, ive been reading thru alot of these posts, not every single page mind you, lol, i was just wondering, does everybody need to get their doctor to sign to start it? as i dont really have any illnesses at all ....
  • If your BMI is over 40 you need a medical form signed.

Or if you have any medication other than contraceptives, or a medical condition

neat, thanks hun xx well this thread really sounds like the inspiration ive been looking for, and ive filled in the form for a counsellor, and really looking forward to it xx
  • Have tried to alter my signature and it won't let me!!

I altered it to 3 lines and it won't save it saying "you are only allowed 5 lines"!!!!

    Anyone else having this problem?

i dont have anything in my siggy, but im just wondering if that might include blank lines as well? xx
  • Aha now that's a thought!

I have gone back to try to add a couple of lines and it won't let me do that either!

  • I think it has now worked!

  • Well, just been to my councellor to exchange some of the shakes I got - as I found I wanted more sweet than savoury - I think I needed the sugary taste. She weighed me as I was just popping in - and I have incredibly lost 8lbs since Wednesday! I am gobsmacked! I resisted my hubby eating chips last night - and am keeping myself occupied so I don't eat. The headaches have nearly gone -so roll on end of week 1 and the other 34lb I have left to lose!!
Good luck to all you others out there - and don't forget - summer is just round the corner!!
