Just been to see my councellor for the first time - came home with a box - told my husband this was my food for the week and he just looked. The look was one of two things either 'my life is gonna be hell for the next week' or 'here we go again' I haven't made my mind up which it was yet. I have just shared a pancake with my daughter and that's it now. I was really excited about starting this diet and now I think I'm a little scared. But remembering from all the other diets I've tried - the early days are the worst and there is a 'golden' time when nothing will stop you. I am hoping to use this forum for support and take my mind off eating when i'm typing and reading - We have a no eating rule whilst on the computer - so that should help.
Speak again tomorrow..............0 -
Hi all. Thanks for the support etc. Fififoofoo, this place is very good for support, so you're not alone!
I have had my last meal replacement for the day. It was the choc mint shake. It smelt more choc mint than it tasted. It tasted more just chocolatey, but it was still quite pleasant and I'm full after drinking a big glass of water afterwards.
I was making the shake while my house mate was making pancakes, and I was tempted when I smelt how yummy they smelt.
I watched a programme on channel 4, supersize v superskinny, and it made me quite peckish for junk food. The skinny girl was finding it difficult to stuff her face with crisps and take aways. I thought, 'you mental woman, pass that over here'. Lol! At the moment, it's not that bad as I'm stretching the time between the meals so that I'm not hungry before bed time, but I might have to start splitting the packs.
I was wondering, the packs say to consume within 15 minutes of making. Why is this? I aask because I would also like to know, can I make up a shake, drink half, save the other half and drink that a couple of hours later? Or is there a problem with this because of the 15 minute thing?0 -

The shakes have to be consumed within 15 minutes or the vitamins and minerals lose their strength. Also the shake starts to seperate and doesn't look particularly appetising.
You can divide the pack and make into two that way but each half will have to be mixed seperately.
If you have ready mades this is different as you can have half and then save half for later.CWC to Maintainer of the Year 09CWC to Slimmer of the Year Semi-Finalist 09CWC to Inspiration Winner Slimmer of the Year 08Sponsor of the Year 07CWC 23 yrs - CCCC Member0 -
Day 3.
Morning all!!!
Thanks Linda. Now I know, I'll just have to learn how to separate the packs in two! The one thing I love about this CD so far is the fact I don't have to measure anything. When I bought the hand blender on sunday, I made sure I got one with a measuring/mixing cup, so I was able to put in the minimum of amount of water required and then top up according to my taste.
Linda, out of interest, I was wondering how much the diet has changed over the years. Would you say it's easier now? Were the shakes bad (because they are quite nice now, with a good choice!). I like a bit of history!
I had a bad night's sleep. I didn't get a solid sleep at all, and I have no idea why, but I'm not tired. I felt like I had to get out of bed and do something to make myself tired, but I knew that would make me hungry - not a good idea at 3am.
Though I'm not feeling tired, I was wondering if my lack of sleep may have something to do with the diet. Hmmm. Well, it's a lovely sunny day here today, so I'm going to have a nice long shower, then take myself out for a walk after my breakfast shake. Sunny days like these make me smile!0 -
Originally the diet came in drums with just a few flavours.
They then changed to packs but back then they really weren't as nice as they are now.
There was a peach one and to me it reminded me of the smell of gloss paint. They also have a metalic aftertaste.
Actually there really is no comparison between the old flavours and the new.CWC to Maintainer of the Year 09CWC to Slimmer of the Year Semi-Finalist 09CWC to Inspiration Winner Slimmer of the Year 08Sponsor of the Year 07CWC 23 yrs - CCCC Member0 -
Awwww that's a shame after you did so well.
Did you not think about doing the 790- plan, 2 shakes a day plus 1 meal??
I know this diet isn't for everyone though
It is a shame really, but I cannot stomach them anymore ever again. OHs sister has been doing it for nearly six months, and has lost over five stone. I didn't miss food, but the shakes aren't for me. Best of luck to you though! :TI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Today hasn't been too bad.
I started with the carton of banana, and I really liked it! I almost wanted another - DANGEROUS!
I had half of a choc orange shake for lunch, as I know my danger time is the evening when I will want something to eat, so I saved the other half for later. This was quite nice too. I have found the flavoured chocolate shakes are more chocolatey than minty or orangey.
I had the chicken and mushroom soup a little while ago. I think I watered it down far too much, as it seemed tasteless, and was overspilling! However, this is the only thing I haven't thought much of since I started.
I will have the rest of choc and orange later, but I feel quite tired now. This must be down to me having a bad night's sleep last night, so I'll have a bit of a nap now, then will get myself up to get on and do some work afterwards. I have a big piece of work due in on saturday that I haven't even started yet. I can see myself up for the next 2 nights trying to do it, and halving my packs to curb the midnight munchies! Everytime I sit down at the laptop, I get distracted and started surfing the net for more info on CD and other people's experiences lol!
Well, I still think I'm spending the time constructively...
Tomorrow is day 4. Should I be testing myself with a ketostix tomorrow? Or do I wait until I feel a big difference to test it? I have weighed myself each morning, and it appears I'm losing weight. I don't feel too different though. Apart from less bloated and visiting the toilet far too often.
Hope everyone else is getting on well?0 -
Where has everyone gone?!?
I'm going to make my own version of a choc & banana shake now with the 2 sachets. I hope it tastes as yummy as the ones I used to drink in Starvin Marvin's!
I use a lot more water for the shakes than the packet says, as I find them to taste better watered down to make a pint of shake. Can that extra water be counted as part of the additional 4 pints of water each day?0
