Hi,
I'm returning to CD (and this thread) - I've had a half-hearted attempt in the past and am trying again with renewed vigour! So inspired by C&Q's success - well done.
I started last week, sort of casually as I knew I had a big weekend away last weekend - I weighed in at 14 st 9 1/2 lb .... arrrrrrghhhhh
Because of the weekend blow-out I only lost 4lb in the week - but I suppose 4lb is better than nothing!
So .... I'm going for it properly now!
Day 4 nearly out of the way (since getting back on the waggon on Monday this week) - if I can just get rid of the voice in my head that tempts me to go off the rails!!!!!!!!
Feeling good that I've not cheated once (not even nibbled on a fingernail! - definitely not a toenail as I can't reach them!!!) and I'm keeping a 500ml bottle of water on my desk that I am making sure I fill (and drink) at least 6 times during my working day!
Fingers crossed for a good result next Tuesday!!!!!
Hopefully reporting progress on here will help me stick to my resolve!0 -
Well - so far so good - the headache began this afternoon, but it isn't so bad. I have managed to turn down so much food it's unreal. I am very poud of myself for just sticking to 2 days to be honest. My colleagues at work think I'm stupid and have given me numerous lectures. This has not really helped and I have found myself getting a little annoyed with them for not supporting me. The fact that theycould all do with losing at least a stone each but are happy to lecture me on the excercise healthy eating thing is beyond me! I have struggled with going to the toilet every 10 minutes with the amount of water I am drinking - but that is only another minor really. Anyway - Hubby has been brilliant despite my earlier thoughts. I am up for a weeks worth to see where I get to! Roll on Tuesday at 6pm when I get weighed.
Good luck to all of you fellow CD 'ers - and roll on day 3!0 -
Smileypigface, I'm on day 4 too, so hope you are getting on ok. I'm not a returner though, so I'll have to learn from you as to how things go!
Fififoofoo: Well done! I'm finding it that teeny bit easier as days go by, but I was tempted again today when I walked down the high street and saw bakeries and takeaways calling me. I ignored them though. I did think for a minute that it can't be cheating to chew a chicken pasty for the taste and then spit it out, but then realised that a) that's just stupid and that b) I'll just end up swallowing it out of greed! Also, ignore the saboteurs. This is the problem I have when I tell people I'm doing a diet, so this time I've told no one, though my house mates all think I'm doing slimfast as they see me with a blender then a shake 2 minutes later every evening. Living with boys is difficult, because they think diets are mental and live off the indian take away next door. Luckily the food there is rubbish, so I'm not tempted!
I've just lied to them and said I'm having a vitamin and mineral shake because my vitamin b level is low - which is true! I told them it's doctors orders to get some vitamins down. So I pretend I hate it and that I'm peed off and just doing as I'm told. But secretly, I'm enjoying the taste! I just don't think I can take the ribbing they'll give me if they find out LOL! But it's better than living with girls. They'll just be nasty about it and try to sabatage the diet - I experienced this before! My mum would be worse though. 'A little bit of this will be ok though, won't it? I'm sure THIS is allowed. You can have one. I made this because you were coming round...' and so on.
Roll on day 5...0 -
Hi all. I've got a stinking cold that started last night and i've lost my sense of taste today. However in true MSE style I am take this opportunity to drink all the soups and shakes I don't like because i cant taste them anyway. Every cloud has a silverlining!!
My work colleagues, who have been really negative about this diet have also decided that i have got a cold because the diet has lowered my immune system. They dont seem to notice that half the work force has also had colds and theyr'e not doing CD. I'm just ignoring them and keeping sight of my goal.
Glad everyone seems to be ticking along nicely. Good night all xProud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
Yaaay another 3 pounds off!
I've deleted my sig which says I want to lose 2 stone before hols - I've lost 19 now and next weigh in is a week saturday so the most I think I'll lose is another 4-5 so I know I'm not going to do it :-( never mind I still look and feel better than I did.
Mookiandco all my colleagues are sceptical about cambridge, I'm forever being told "it can't be good for you" (no but eating loads of crisps and choc is???) or you'll damage your insides (what with all the vitamins and minerals??) or even (this is true, honest) your not meant to drink that amount of water.......!!!!!!?????? WATER IS GOOD!!!
Anyways just stick at it, you'll have the last laugh when your slim!! One of my colleagues last year started doing it herself when she saw the results I had (I lost 4 stone doing it last year), it's just the rest that still keep on at me.Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
It's day 5 and I'm still going strong. This has got to be the first time in who knows how long that TOTM hasn't been painful and I've got my clothes feeling a looser rather than tighter from retention.
I used a ketostix for the first time yesterday and I'm most definitely in ketosis (well, I hope that's what dark pink means), so I'm spurred on further.
I'm also feeling less hungry and have been peeing like the thames river is running through me, though I found a really good thread on minimins explaining how water works in the body and how much we should drink, so that was really helpful!
I'm currently sipping on a toffee and walnut shake and am enjoying it very much! I alternate my sips of shake with water so that I get my full intake of water, so this helps keep me on top of that and fills me up more than enough. I'm feeling less hungry as the days pass and am now looking forward to my weigh in on monday. I've got to say that the sunny weather here has really helped raise my mood and remind me that, when it get sunnier and hotter in a few months, I'll be out there enjoying it more in the summer garments I'm looking forward to buying!
I just hope I will manage to keep the motivation high enough that I'll still be feeling like this in a few weeks.
ClaireLR, well done you! The clothes must be feeling loose now!
Mookiandco, poor you! Hope you feel well soon. Though I like your way of thinking on how to use those packs!;) And continue to ignore those twits at work, because if they bothered to look into CD, they would certainly be eating their words (no pun intended). I certainly wouldn't have started a diet if it meant I was not going to get my full vitamins and minerals and I would be starving myself. We know what we're doing, they can just look on in jealousy when you walk in to work one day looking just faboulous and healthy in a rather fetching outfit. I've not told anyone at work, because even though my colleagues are far bigger than me (by about 3 stone or more each), they make me laugh with their advice on diets and exercise. Yet they stuff KFC down their throat like it's going out of fashion.

Glad to see everyone is doing well!

I am having my last shake of the day, a strawberry one. Boy this tastes GOOOOOD! It tastes like strawberry mini milk icecreams. YUM!
I have a problem all...next friday my very closest friend/work colleague is leaving. All the work team decided to go to the best chinese restaurant in the world for her leaving do. I have said I will go along only if we were going to a bar, but that's not happening. And she will be most offended if I don't turn up to this Chinese restaurant do. I'm not tempted to go (well, this time next week I might be though LOL!), but I'm stuck as to what to do now, as I know she doesn't give a hoot if any of the others can't make it.
I don't want to let her down, but I don't want to go along for a meal when I'm happy doing this for the time being. And I'll still only be on Day 12 of the diet by then, so I can't even think about moving to another step on the diet for a temporary time. I want to give full commitment to the SS step for now.
No one knows I'm on the diet, and I won't be telling them in order to get out of the meal, as they will still persuade me it's ok and sabatage my attempts yet again.
What do I do?0
