  • Hi

Can someone tell me why the powdered sweetner is not allowed in coffee etc? Is it because the ingredients will inhibit weight loss or purely that it will make you feel hungry so more likely to fall off the wagon?

    Thanks

    Sue

It is to do with the ingredients in the powdered sweeteners, apparently, that can knock you out of ketosis.

nomealone - It's a Tesco product, not a coca-cola one, not sure if I made that clear!

CnQ, thanks for the huge list of reasons, I am going to print this out and stick it to my fridge and have also sent a copy to my friend, if thats not inspiration I don't know what is!

Linda, I haven't specifically noticed that coke zero or anything else that Im having specifically makes me hungry but there are still time when I am hungry, so I think I will monitor more closely now how I feel after having anything to drink, thanks for the advice.

Yes its best to monitor. I have a client who was consistenly losing 7-8lb per week and around 4lb on AAM then all of a sudden his loses changed to 2lb or 3lb a week for a couple of weeks. I asked if he was eating anything he said no, I asked if he was drinking enough, he said funnily enough he was drinking more now than ever. He had discovered Coke Zero and perfectly clear. I suggested he just revert back to water for a week and see what happened. The next week his loss was 8lb and he resumed a more normal pattern.

He continued on to lose 8stones and stuck to plain water.

Although sometimes we may not feel hungry we can slow down the weightloss a little by adding extra things outside of the recommended fluids.

  • Hi all,

I started CD around 4/5th Jan and did it for 5 days. Then fell off wagon as I was finding I missed food SO much. I lost 7lbs in those 5 days but I have put some of that back on now. I have eaten and drunk to my heart's content since then and now feel mentally ready to do the diet properly. For the moment, I am setting myself the challenge of doing it for 3 weeks continuously and losing 21lbs in that time. Then, will do a bit of fitness and healthy eating for a few weeks. I currently weigh 11 stone 5lbs and want to get to 10stone within this 3 weeks. To be honest, I will still be "overweight" for my height of 5ft but I like being curvy!

So, today is day 1 on CD. Just having a soup for lunch. So far, finding it quite easy and looking forward to seeing the results. I know I can do it and when I stopped after 5 days last time, I felt I had let myself down. Well, not this time!

    Bye all!
    Jen

  • Jennifer you need to go to the weight you are happy at - not what a chart tells you to be!
