Jennifer2703 wrote: »Hi all,
I started CD around 4/5th Jan and did it for 5 days. Then fell off wagon as I was finding I missed food SO much. I lost 7lbs in those 5 days but I have put some of that back on now. I have eaten and drunk to my heart's content since then and now feel mentally ready to do the diet properly. For the moment, I am setting myself the challenge of doing it for 3 weeks continuously and losing 21lbs in that time. Then, will do a bit of fitness and healthy eating for a few weeks. I currently weigh 11 stone 5lbs and want to get to 10stone within this 3 weeks. To be honest, I will still be "overweight" for my height of 5ft but I like being curvy!
So, today is day 1 on CD. Just having a soup for lunch. So far, finding it quite easy and looking forward to seeing the results. I know I can do it and when I stopped after 5 days last time, I felt I had let myself down. Well, not this time!
Bye all!
Remember during your first 3/4 or sometimes 5 days your body is using the carb in the diet (not alot) and then going to your reserve cupboard to top up from the glycogen stored there.
By day 3/4 the cupboard is bare therefore it has to find energy from somewhere else, and that is fat. To break down fat is hard work for the body so your brain will try and trick you to eat and you will feel hungry, this is more than likely what happened last time, don't let it fool you. Everything you need is in those little packs.
If you ignore your brain and focus on the packs and water the next day its like a switch being turned on. When your body burns fat for energy ketones are released (ketones are a bi-product of fat burn) they will turn off your appetite, make you feel full of energy, downside of course is the ketosis breath.
Ketones come out of the body in two ways through the urine and through the lungs. The more you drink the more you dilute them and pass them out that way.
As you lose weight move up the plans through stablisation, this incorporates good healthy low gi conventional foods and will teach you good eating habits for your future maintenance.
Good luck on your fresh start.

Thanks!
I have just taken another full binbag of clothes to the charity shop - that makes 7 in the last few months with more to come!
I take my stuff to the British Heart Foundation and I subscribed to the giftaid package where they can claim the tax back on things I donate to them. Also, they send me a total of the amount of money I raise for them in each financial year - am really looking forward to that!

That's good. I always worry about charity shops being legit. I used to go to a friend's house after school and her mum worked for Cancer Research. She had SO many clothes because she used to keep whatever she liked rather than sell it! I have a number for someone from British Heart Foundation who will come and collect the stuff so will use that when the time comes.
Well it is now 16.40 and I must admit, I feel a bit shaky and as I am in the middle of cooking for the kids, it does feel a bit tempting to eat. However, will stick to it. I would feel so rubbish if I gave up so easily. Nope, defo going to do it for the whole 3 weeks.
Hope everyone is doing well today.JenAimingto lose 19lbs in 3 weeks

Thank goodness today is nearly over - all I have wanted to do today is EAT, EAT, EAT - the carb-monster has hit and hit hard.
Roll on tomorrow - please!

OMG I am never drinking coke zero AGAIN.
I had a bottle yesterday afternoon about 3ish, got home last night and was RAVENOUS. I ended up eating 4 slices of corned beef and 4 sausages on 2 muffins
Now I've been doing really well this week, even went for a 6 mile walk the weekend so was looking forward to weigh in because I thought I'd have done well, now I'm dreading weigh in.
All I can put it down to is the Coke Zero. I've even been good all weekend which is unusual for me :rotfl: so to ruin it on a weeknight is bad for me.
CnQ, hope you are ok today??Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
Its a hard lesson to learn because it seems such a harmless thing to do and on any other diet it wouldn't make much difference. CD is so finely balanced is doesn't take a lot to knock it sideways.
Just get straight back onto the diet today and drink plenty of plain water.
Anything you will gain will only be water and glycogen and it will come off quickly you may feel a little hungry today though.CWC to Maintainer of the Year 09CWC to Slimmer of the Year Semi-Finalist 09CWC to Inspiration Winner Slimmer of the Year 08Sponsor of the Year 07CWC 23 yrs - CCCC Member0 -
Am fighting fit this morning!
CD here we go!
Start of my Week 28 today !!0 -
C&Q / Claire...Keep going it's just a blip.
I have been miserable since the weekend I've felt really tired & very, very, grumpy. Luckily this has not translated into me eating anything bad but the temptation was there!
I think it's part PMT & I also I've been doing some exercise dvds and even though they're suitable for beginners I think they're too much for me.I am going to cut out the cardio section on my favourite, which although it only lasts 10 mins is nearly killing me & just do the warm up, toning exercises & warm down. Does anyone have any recommendations about good exercise dvds? (ie presented by someone not too annoying, which gets good results without me feeling like I've been run over by a bus!)

There must have been something in the air yesterday because I was ravenous from about 4pm onwards.
Im off swimming again in an hour so feeling quite virtuous this morning.
Hope you are feeling ok today Claire - I remember how crap I felt last week after the toast episode. Hang in there hun and like Linda said its the glycogen that goes on - in the big scheme of things you have still lost.
If youre going to go off the wagon though sausage muffins sound a great way to do it LOL!!0
