    Hello all

I am posting under my partners log in as I dont have one myself.

I am hopefully starting CD next week (pay day lol) I am really excited about it.

I was wondering though - how to go about starting, obviously I call my local cd counsellor, but I was wondering what happens after that? Also what about weigh in's - do I do them independantly of my consellor?

Is this a one-on-one type of thing or in a group?

I have been doing weight watchers for nearly a year, but so fed up of loosing 1-2lb a week, I need more motivation and support.

Any advice at all would be fantastic for a newbie!

You would be able to do the higher plans but not Sole Source at your weight.

Do phone a CDC and make an appointment.

It is always advisable to phone round a few and to find someone you gel with - it is so important to have that support.

What about giving a few a ring to see how you get on?

My CDC has been marvellous with me and I recommend all my friends to her who live near.

    Hi

Under the old regulations you would have had to have started on 1000 cals as your BMI would be less than one stone over BMI 25, however, from 1st February the rules change and there is a new with food programme called 810 this is only 20 cals over a VLCD and the weightloss should be excellent.

All CDC's have been notified of the changes.

  • Hello everyone

Had my weigh in and lost a pound which I am over the moon about given Mondays toast scoffing. Now the PMT has gone, Im fine and have been SS-ing all week so next week should be good.

I need to have a plan for next time I have PMT - I thought I might have that as my add a meal week. Does anyone else find that helps? Or any other suggestions? I am having the bars now too so that helps a bit with the chocolate / chewing cravings but when I have PMT I could eat cardboard I just get ravenously hungry. I have tried upping my water intake aswell and that makes no difference either. Even the cats look tasty!

  • Also Linda can we have some more details of the 810 plan? My CDC is not as good as you unfortunately and doesnt seem to be clued up on everything or good with advice.

My hubby is working away until the end of Feb but when he comes back, I dont want to be SS-ing anymore as I would like to have an evening meal with him.

Also what are the comparative weight losses like for the higher plans? I know Cute n Quirky does 790 and finds it ok. I have 5.5 stones to go.
    :o
  • The difference between 790 and 810 is simply a little more milk the weightloss will probably be as good as 790, however, by being over 800 calories it is no longer a very low calorie diet but a low calorie diet which gives flexibility to stay at this level for longer. You will more than likely lose between 10-14lb on this plan per month.

The 790 plan will disappear from 1st Feb unless you are already on it and wish to continue on it.

The foods will be the same as for the 790 plan maybe a few more listed, the booklets are not yet available.

Most folks on 790 find the losses to be similar to SSing - 3/4lbs per week.

My losses on 790 have been more consistent all the way through than on SS.

The extra 20 cals on the new 810 plan won't make a whole lot of difference to the weight losses.

Great advice CnQ, thanks. I met a lovely counsellor this morning. I felt very comfortable and have come away with all my soups and shakes for this week. I have to visit my dr to get her to sign my form but my counsellor says she is happy for me to do the 790 plan this week and I can go on to SS if my dr signs.
