Plug pulled on Sir Paul McCartney

Maybe there's the other side -There's nothing more annoying than having to leave a gig before it finishes (especially if it has started late) to make sure I can get home by public transport. Perhaps a little consideration for the fans who don't have a stretch limo waiting outside to take them to a nearby five star hotel might be nice.
As for Hyde Park isn't a residential area-I can only assume the posters who think that don't know the area at all.
Still well done Bruce you've probably messed up any leeway on future gigs in Hyde Park. Cheers for that !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

The crowd's ecstasies turn to rage, however, when the PA system is cut silent halfway through a raucous La Bamba;
Or was it the Beatles?0 -

*twenty-five* minutes overrun? And would have been 45+ if the plug hadn't been pulled? !!!!!! how disrespectful to fans that those who had to catch a train home would be forced to miss the end of the show, and how disrespectful to the promoter to put them in that position and how disrespectful to the local residents for what can only be described as a 'right in the middle of london' venue.
It is a massive shame for the fans, and a bigger shame for everyone else that fingers ar being pointed in every direction but the one they belong in.0 -
Bang on guys. Miserable, joyless country. Miserable, joyless jobsworths. 10 more minutes, that's all we wanted. 10 bloody minutes. Too much to ask in London, too much to ask in England. Stuff it, stuff the lot of you. If Bruce never comes back to London it serves you right, I'll happily go see him in countries like Spain, France and the USA where they understand his worth.
We get it. You're all butthurt because you love Brooce and they dared to cut him short. Endlessly repeating the same whine over and over just because you found a different newspaper quote that agrees with you doesn't make you any more profound. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
They should had pulled the plug on the Sir in the club, the cavern club, and the other, refused his visa.
I am sorry, but I am against this 24/7 society that fills us with pc induced media hype of continuous noise and disturbance. Stop all concerts and deliveries in 4 miles of residential areas at 8:00 pm. This includes idle rrrrrr shop trucks, that deliver round where I live gone 11:00, their licence ends at 9:00. And on Sunday, nothing. Time for a day of rest.

If a professional musician can't plan his set so that it finishes close to the correct time instead of needing an extra 45 minutes on a 3 hour planned slot, maybe he is not as professional as he once was.
Irrespective of all the council and "jobsworth" bashers, the only people at fault are the very highly paid musicians who act like spoilt children when they suddenly find out that they don't get to pick and choose which rules and which parts of an agreed contract to abide by.
No doubt, Springsteen and his band also think that they have the right to ignore other rules and regulations by simply using the "Don't you know who I am?" argument.
As you are "The Boss" Mr Springsteen, maybe you should tell your band members that their whinging & whining just makes them (and in effect, you) look like petulant children who are crying simply because they didn't get their own way.0 -

This
Bruce plays in Vegas where they are ultra strict on length of shows and WILL pull the plug -and he knows it so finishes on time or slightly over when performing there.
He assumed London didn't mean it -Now he knows better.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

He should have done it like ben folds, and played at hyperspeed to beat the curfew:
