Oh just as I'm paying for the current pensioners, and just as future generations will pay for your children? Each generation of tax payers supports the pensioners of the day - or did you think pensions are an invention of the last few years?Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

whos going to pay for your pension ? your kids or do you expect other peoples kids to pay ?
my 3 kids will contribute for generations unlike yours , lost argument here !!!!
you are totaly reliable on others to pay for yourself in older life by not having kids which completly contradicts your argument throughout this thread0 -
At this rate it won't be long before there will be no pensions & no benefits whatsoever.
The only people who will be working their butts off in this country will be foreigners. They already put Brits to shame with their work ethic.
This country is digging itself deeper & deeper into a hole & it has less to do with politicians than the fantasy world of "I want - but someone else has to pay."0 -
im not sure about the work ethic, personaly i think its solely down to foriegn workers working for next to nothing , and that dont put me a britain to shame0

The truth actually is that I expect the money I have paid into the system to pay for my pension. I do NOT really believe that I'm paying for the pensioners of today as they have paid before (I know, contrary to what I stated above, for the sake of argument), although that is the accepted view. I have also provided for a private income - via saving money I'm earning from my work.
By the way, who pays for the pensions of those who have never contributed? You know, those you say they are doing fine by taking advantage of the system even if they could work and contribute? Please answer that.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

you are totaly expecting my kids to pay for your retirement with a state pension , by you not having kids ,your own will not be contributing, thats not hard to work out, unyet you disagree with yourself paying for other peoples benefits in your working life, unyet happy to recieve of others, the money you pay now goes to services now , not in 30 years time0 -

Eh, people need to just live in the real world - there will always be those that have more - that's life.
Yes, footballers appear to be overpaid but that's market forces in play. Do Hollywood / Bollywood stars really *earn* their money in the same way that streetsweepers or careworkers do? No, they don't. It seems unfair BUT that is the way life goes and it won't change by letting the workshy stay home on their massive sofas watching their huge TVs will it?
You might start at the bottom but you can move up and onward but only if you take the decision to try to be a productive member of society.
For the record, I fully support the payment of benefits to those that cannot work for health reasons and to those that are trying to find work.:hello:0 -

No, I am providing personally for my retirement. I have also been paying class 2 and class 4 stamps for years and years, thererefore I'm paying for at least one pension, whether mine or someone else's - matter of opinion. I am paying TAXES. I repeat: I am PAYING into the system - not that you will take any notice, but still.
Please answer my question, who pays the pensions of those who have never contributed anything even if they could have? If you don't answer this question your already skimp credibility is lost.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
