My apologies callum9999 i did meen cabin allowance , and thank you lgw29 for clearing up the passport rules , i agree that it may have been handled better. A lesson learnt0

The passenger could easily have put it under the seat. Then when the plane was in the air put it in the overhead locker.
Arguing with flight crew infront of other passengers is a terible idea. No matter if you are right or wrong.0 -
If you do not follow the instructions of cabin crew you can end up with a dangerous situation.
I'm sure that is why the police were called, she didn't obay the reasonable instructions of the cabin crew trying to ensure a safe environment.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
I thought it was just common sense that all passengers follow rules before take off.
Luggage stowed under seats or overhead lockers, trays up etc etc etc.
I think she was at fault. They are trying to keep to a tight schedule. If they are delayed all the other flights behind it are.
I would say they were feeling put out that they made themselves look silly0 -

Not if there wasn't room.frigiliana wrote: »Try and keep it short , flying from Liverpool to Malaga yesterday typically all the overhead cabin lockers appeared full, so a lady near me was asked not very politely "in her opinion" to put her carry on suitcase under the seat in front of her, she explained that it would be difficult but the stewardess insisted again not very politely , the lady pointed out that if she adjusted some of the luggage
on the opposite side which the stewardess did the suitcase would go in, and that seemed the end of it but the stewardess seemed peeved about it.
So the passenger wanted the stewardess to move around other peoples bags to accommodate hers?
Serious question 'cos I don't know the answer:
would this be considered as part of a stewardess's remit?
Where did this passenger expect to put her hand luggage if the overhead lockers were full?
The only other place is under the seat in front!frigiliana wrote: »was asked not very politely "in her opinion" to put her carry on suitcase under the seat in front of her, she explained that it would be difficult but the stewardess insisted again not very politely
In whose opinion?
Did you hear the full conversation between the passenger and the stewardess?
Was the stewardess's tone not polite?
What was the tone of the passenger?0 -
Why was this incident anything to do with the OP?
I travelled with Ryanair very recently, am a regular with them, and the passenger next to me boarded fairly late and thus there was no room in the overhead locker so she had to travel with her hard sided hand luggage in the footwell. Not ideal but no alternative. She did not complain to me nor to the cabin crew. She had the window seat so her hand luggage did not impede anyone's exit.
I have seen the very worst behaviour on Ryanair flights: usually groups travelling together; loud and unruly to the extent that the Captain has put on the seat belts sign just to control them.0 -
There was no raised voices and the lady in question did not make a fuss , and i didn't hear fully what was said between the two parties, and we hadn't taken of we were getting into our seats, as the plane was full we were asked to quickly take any available seats the passengers who were last on the plane found it difficult to find anywhere in the overhead lockers to put there cabin luggage. if i have time on my next flight i will just see how easy it is to put a 55cm x 40cm x 20cm cabin bag under the seat in front .0

There should be an option to vote using the call buttons."The passenger in 13c is delaying our departure due to being a git please press your call buttons now if you want her chucked off the plane"0

People don't realise that the crew could be potentially saving their !!!! if something were to go wrong/they fell ill. I'm sure everyone would be rushing to that lady should the worst happen!0

No sympathy from me. Basic rule of flying is always do exactly what staff ask of you. That's the immigration officers, check in lot, cabin staff etc etc.
There are strict rules about loose luggage enforced by laws that the crew have to follow. Its for everyones safety.
The individual concerned has probably learned a valuable lesson.0
