am more of a lurker than a poster, but had to comment on this as it could so easily have been me on Sunday and I would most likely have responded in a similar fashion, but I would have been recording the incident which I am sure would have got me into a whole heap more trouble.
Ok first things first, some airline crew (ALL airlines) are terrible, some are amazing and the same goes for passengers including very frequent fliers.
I make a choice when I fly RA which I do frequently as the are the only airline flying where I need to go. If I do not check a bag in then I choose to travel very light, generally with a laptop sized rucksack that is well within the cabin baggage rules. I also choose to pay for priority so that I can sit in my superstitious number seat but more importantly so I can place my bag in an appropriate overhead bin so that it does not clutter up my feet area and I can therefore travel in relative comfort without having to squeeze my feet either side of a bag.
My flight from Slovakia had the usual 12 empty seats in rows 3 and 4 with the tables down meaning no passengers can sit there (still do not understand why they actually do this) PLUS 9 seats in rows 1 and 2 where you have to buy the seat (of which 2 were occupied by the time the last passenger got on). The plane was rammed full and in the end they had to let passengers who not paid for the posh seats sit in them, however I digress.
I was sat in my seat by the window at the front listening to the RA crew (who in this case were also expressing some attitude) demanding people to put their bags under the seat etc etc so that the passengers who chose to get on after everyone else and with bags that really look like they should not be carry on could be accommodated. I was just waiting for her to pull out my rucksack at which point I would have ignored the request and carried on looking out of the window. I mean any passenger anywhere on the plane could have put it there and moved further down the plane as I often see them doing.
Anyway if it is okay to put the bag underneath my seat so that I cannot get my feet in there, why do they just not put the bag under one of those empty seats, either the ones people won’t pay for or the ones they decide they do not want you to sit in? The bag won't move if it is put in there properly. Pretty logical and simple and solves this problem as they then have 10+ slots to choose from. Oh, no that is far too logical, lets cause aggravation for the passengers.
I wouldn’t have asked for the crew members surname as it is really not needed plus for sure I would have a photo of her either from at the time or during the flight when she was doing her duties (phone would be in flight mode of course).0 -

I'd pay extra for this option (don't tell MOL though).It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

The passenger should have just complied with the instructions, and then when the plane was airborne found some space. Although this always happens when you charge £70 return to put a 15kg bag in the hold as everyone takes the maximum amount of hand luggage. Out of interest OP, did Ryanair weigh hand luggage at the gate in Liverpool? I've always had my hand luggage checked for size, but apparently they now also have a scale at the gate as well.0

What if the lady had managed to squeeze her luggage into an overhead locker and during turbulence it had flown open (i have seen this happen before when there is too much stuff inside) and her bag had fallen on someones head ? It wouldn't have been her head but could have caused injury to someone else. Maybe thats why the stewardess asked her to put it under the seat ? For safety reasons.0

Louisdf . No Ryan Air didn't weigh our luggage.
When we arrived at the airport i had remembered there was a free weighing scale near Easyjet check in, but now it's not free £1 per bag , but as we were going to the gate we passed a free weighing scale so worth remembering.
They were very keen on the size though and as i mentioned every second passenger was asked to place their bag in the measuring cage they have , i believe they new the plane was going to be a full and were hoping to catch a few passengers out and making them pay extra to put the bag in the hold , i don't know this for certain but that was my impression0 -
I am with the stewardess.
I have seen some proper knobs on flights, the sort of people who fly once a year but think that flight was invented personally for them.
I'd much rather stewardesses were given cattle prods tbh.
We travel frequently, always treat the staff how you wish to be treated, good morning, please and thank you. Have more often than not got us a window seat / extra leg room free of charge.
Knobs on flights, those who continually kick the rear of your seat or my pet hate those who are sitting in front of you and are continually up and down and cannot sit down properly but just drop into their seat0 -
You have to remember that airline staff are god and must be cow towed to, or else will do their best to ruin your holiday.
(I'm sure there are some good ones BTW not been fortunate to come across many though.)
Sadly they have to deal with some right d*ckheads so a more strident attitude is called for.0 -

I don't very often agree with Bob, but having witnessed some peoples behaviour, he's right. We flew into Cologne + a very drunk family were nothing but trouble on the flight (making phone calls during take-off, being abusive + threatening to other passengers + staff + 1 son being overly + inappropriately affectionate with his mother!) the air crew were supremely professional + dealt with the situation with minimal fuss. Chatting to a stewardess afterwards, this is a common situation, so they have my sympathy. Incidentally, the drunk family were met off the plane by several unimpressed German policemen + we were told that that was as far as they were going to get into Germany!0
