What's done is done FS and you've given yourself a good talking to. Now what would be a REAL waste of money would be if you were left feeling too guilty to enjoy your purchases. I think you need to extract maximum enjoyment from them all to bring down the average cost per smile wink-and-smile-smiley-emoticon.gif
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Was it worth it?
    • used the free travel sized shampoo and conditioner provided to wash my hair this morning - £9.75's worth of product
    • took the company car so no additional cost on fuel
    • DC stayed with a friend last night so I picked her up from there - on the exact route so no detour required
    • arrived in time for coffee and danish - cost £3.75
    • had hair cut and blow dryed by top stylist from Av£da at L1b£rty$ :D - cost £40 and I love it
    • chose foot lotion (£18) and my regular shampoo (£16.50) to redeem the £40 against. Put the remaining £3.50 towards a lipstick - additional cost £7
    • got additional travel sized freebies:styling foam, my regular conditioner, styling product - about £15's worth
    • returned glittery Cl1n1qu£ lipstick - £14.50 refunded
So a haircut and £79.25 worth of products against a cost of £50.75. Definately a huge saving against my usual haircut cost of £60 and buying the products separately. I could have got the haircut cheaper if I'd shopped around and the products are still expensive but it's a step in the right direction. Definately a way to keep the lillies and still reduce the costs. I may put some of the travel sized products on Fleabay and reduce the cost further.

    Happy with that for starters.

  • Hi Megela. I worry about upsetting people who are struggling financially when I write about my indulgences. But then no one has to read about them I suppose. As long as we're not hurting anybody (including ourselves) then there shouldn't be a problem.

Fortune, I LOVE reading about your purchases. They are always thought out and mostly MSE as they are used in conjuction with vouchers/shopping around/money nutral. Its always nice to read about you and Mr F and your MSE take on life, plus the fact you have earn't it and you deserve is ;)

Am with you on the missed thyroxine. Man alive I feel so sluggish and cold if I miss it.

Hope Fortunate Cat is still doing OK downstairs. JellyButt cat behaves herself at night so she is still allowed on the bed. She sleeps down the end though and is a bit of a foot warmer for me!

Nearly forgot again today. We stayed at a friends last night and, anything which breaks my routine can cause me to forget. Remembered about 1-ish and hangover recovery has speeded up now :rotfl:

The Fortunate Cat had the bed all to herself last night as we were away but it's back to downstairs for her tonight. She doesn't like it at all but it's necessary for our sanity. 'Jellybutt' what a fabulous name for a cat! I had a cat called Ratbag once.

It's the morning after the night before and don't I know it. Hangovers all round - me, Mr F, my purse!

    MS or not:
    • we drove to the venue in the company car so no additional fuel costs
    • tickets came out of last month's entertainment budget
    • took £80 cash with us out of this month's entertainment budget - that covered a bottle of wine for the table, Mr F's beers, a couple of liquers, the shared taxi cost home and a photograph. They had a temporary studio set up when we arrived and I don't have many photos of the 2 of us. Mr F cannot smile to order :rotfl:Came home with £5 left and may be able to use the photo of me for professional purposes too
    • taxi cost home was shared between 5 of us
    • stayed at our friends' house so no accommodation costs and they made us a lovely breakfast this morning too
    • met someone who is at a crossroad in her career so offered her some coaching (some of which might even be paid) :)
    • Waitr0$£ delivery has arrived. Used my £15 voucher and got free rocket (short use by date) - came in £48.49 under budget :T That will help to make up for the shortfall in my pay this month
    • 30p to Mr Marmite. He's getting quite heavy now. I might have to tot him up for an OP this afternoon.
Am recovering on the sofa now and trying to psyche myself up to doing some admin work. I think I'm more tired than hungover. We didn't get to bed until after 2.00 am and didn't sleep at all well. It was a fabulous night out - four course meal, raffle, T1na Turn£r tribute act, dancing. I felt very comfortable in my dress - that strapless W0nd£rbra might turn out to be my best purchase this year. It was so comfortable and did the job well too :o I was pleased with the necklace too - a couple of people asked me about the stones and were really surprised when I said it was costume jewellery. They said it looked very expensive - that because it's not just a necklace, it's an.....

Hope you've all had a good weekend so far

Just been catching up with your diary......

Don't feel bad about posting about your purchases, that's the whole point of the diary and anyway, I love reading about your shopping trips and purchases... so don't stop.

Your purchases are well thought out and you do give consideration/justification to everything that you buy.

The haircut sounds fab and to be able to get the cost reimbursed in products is fantastic. Fab find. Well jel......

    I love Liberty's.

Cat - We have kept ours in the kitchen area every night forever - otherwise she wakes us up in the night by chirping. It's really annoying and wakes us all up. So, in the kitchen she must say as I love my sleep.

Keep posting and keep shopping - PLEASE!! (In a very MSE way of course!!).
