Yes - we didn't do very well on avoiding the alcohol last night. The trouble is, if Mr F and I are home on a Saturday night we treat ourselves to a good dinner, a roaring log burner, a film and a bottle of wine. And it just wasn't the same without it
So, this weekend's MS (or not):
- put the Christmas decorations away - that's Christmas well and truly over now
- a cupboard lunch
- an hour's admin work
- put together my final claim for last year's admin work
- filed some paperwork (only new stuff though - Everest remained untouched)
- Wild Boar Sausages with Red Onion Gravy, Potato Croquettes, Mashed Swede and Peas for supper. DSS1 left the sausages behind when he visisted before Christmas so I popped them in the freezer. Mr F had 2 and I had 1 (better for my waistline)
- a bottle of red courtesy of Avi0$ - I'm going to miss those points
- it stayed dry today (but very foggy) so I managed to tidy the whole garden :T
- a cupboard lunch
- made the remaining sausages into meatballs so Italian Sausage Meatballs with pasta for supper tonight. I think I might stick to this format as it makes a packet of sausages go much further.
- OP'd a 2p Tillytidy
Cheers!

Step was really, really hard this morning. Friday must have lulled me into a sense of false security. I think I'm putting more into it and perhaps that's why I'm struggling at the end. I am determined to continue and work as hard as I can though - the scales haven't started going down yet :rotfl:
MS today:- Step class attended (or should that be survived?)
- popped into the office to drop in my last claim
- a cupboard lunch
- half an hour's admin work
- Bacon, Courgette and Brie Gratin for supper - using up the last of the Christmas Brie
Still missing those lie ins.

Had the plumbers in today. We had a new bathroom fitted about 3 years ago and the hose to the bath shower broke. I called the company who supplied and fitted the bathroom and they sent me a new hose. However, when we tried to replace it we discovered that the bath panels had been fitted in such a way as to make maintenance impossible. So a new corner panel was fitted today along with a new shower valve and a new tap cylinder. Feel like I have a shiny new bathroom again and at no cost! Well except for the gargantuan tea bill :rotfl:
MS adventures today:- £25 OP'd - £10 Debenhams voucher from Con$um£r Puls£, £10 Amaz0n voucher from Valu£d 0pini0n£ and £5 Amazon voucher from $wagbuck$
- leftovers from last night's supper for lunch
- did the Waitrose shop - £1.69 over budget even with my £10 voucher  Mr F has just had a health check up and been told his cholesterol is far too high so I've had to restock the cupboards with lots of low cholesterol food -the cupboard of temptation is now the cupboard of vituosity. Some things will carry forward to next weeks meal plan so, hopefully, I'll claw some budget back next time. This is what Christmas does to you folks

Sorry to hear about Mr F's cholesterol, i've heard on the interweb that oats could help in lowering it. Obviously i'm not a medical person, so please don't take that as gospel but it may be worth looking into..
I tried to have porridge for breakfast this morning, more ended up on the microwave than the bowlI'll try again tomorrow!! :rotfl:
Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

Hello
I've also heard that about the cholesterol thing and porridge - oh and if it helps, the same thing happened to me when I did my porridge in the m/wave as I had covered the dish - the next time I did it I left it uncovered and it was fine. Good luckAG

Thanks Shala - porridge is one of Mr F's favourites so I'll have no problem getting that into him. Portion size is going to be the challenge - he was complaining yesterday about being hungry and it's only Day 1! :rotfl:

Hi Anna
I will have to investigate microwave porridge - I've been doing mine the old fashioned way! :rotfl:

I think you're meant to have something like 85g a day!! I'm sure that would go some way to filling him up a bit..
Anna - the porridge was uncovered and in a massive bowl but I underestimated the rise! :rotfl:it was the mornflake new pack, that is unflavoured/unsweetened just to warn anyone who may be trying it. The leftover bit was nice though!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Cleaned up the bathroom yesterday to find two chips in the bath  Villeroy & Boch - 3 years old - £600  The owner of the bathroom company came out to have a look and is arranging for a professional repair company to come out at the end of the month. They are only small chips but you can't leave them apparently in case they expand or crack.
MS yesterday:- went to Zumba and put some extra effort in :j
- 30p Tillytidy OP'd
- a cupboard lunch
- Pr£t's Roasted Winter Vegetable Soup recipe for supper
- an NSD
- an hour and a half's admin work
- leftover soup for lunch
- sadly not an NSD as I finished by book last night and bought another one for my Kindle from Amaz0n with some of my vouchers. Also, relented and bought knickers and slippers from M&S as mine are now falling apart (you may remember my earlier PJ bottoms embarrassment and I don't want a repeat of that!) :rotfl:
- Haddock in a Yoghurt & Wholegrain Mustard Sauce with Wholegrain Rice, Sweetcorn & Peas for supper. I've discovered many of our usual recipes are low in cholesterol so the new regime isn't going to be too difficult cooking wise. The problem will be Mr F and his willpower - or lack of it. He confessed to having steak and kidney pie at the forum meeting Tuesday night
Happy portion control everyone
