Once you have a new prescription, and with an existing pair of glasses that fit well, try Glasses Direct. You can input the frame/arm sizes and it provides the best fit. Very cheap, even for complicated lenses, worth having even if just for spares. Lots pf special offers and Quidco as well :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Best wishes Tilly x
I second that - Asda's the only one for me. Although had a bad experience with my prescription at asda, so now go to b00ts, then take my prescription to asda. My prescription means thinner lenses, glass and anti glare, varifocal, etc, etc - 2 pairs for £99Oh and my eyesight is so bad - I work full time and still get help towards each pair
could not believe it.

Fortune I've just started with contact lenses as I'd tried before with a high street chain and it hadn't worked. I found and independent that was recommended to me and they have been amazing. I don't wear them daily but a couple of times a week on average.
Probably worth it for you given the discount you'll get on glasses. You can always purchase a packet or 2 of lenses on line to save a few £ in between a purchases from the opticians.0 -

London and the cat cafe? Oh my word. Did you take pix? And that study bed, with the top box. Mmmmmmm. Even though RT's not going to get it :rotfl: I really like it!
Good luck with those glasses.

I buy my glasses from Tesc0 opticians - usually have a bogof offer and (until now) I've always changed up clubcard vouchers in Boost events so they ended up costing me nothing
Sadly that won't be the case next time

Thank you my wise and knowledgeable friends for all your insights re the buying of glasses and contact lenses.
I think I was taken a bit off guard this time but will give it some serious thought for the future.

Only in the 'two pennies left' sense though :rotfl:
Payday came early because of the Bank Holiday so I did the monthly money shuffle. And of course there was nothing left in the pot because we've spent it all on televisions and spectacles  There isn't even enough left to cover my first contact lens payment
We do have our emergency savings of course but it pains me greatly to dip into those. Sooooooo...
- worked 8 and a bit hours yesterday. It was like working in a sauna _pale_
- posted 3 items of redundant audio visual stuff on FB. All sold and cash paid - £75 up. So enough to top up the contact lens pot and some left over for the fun budget
- listed 14 items on Fleabay. All very good condition items so some at least should sell. Helps with the decluttering and with bolstering my personal savings. Important because I handed in my notice today
I felt better about life immediately so I know it's the right thing to do. It's becoming increasingly difficult to do a good job there as more and more obstacles are put in our way. The fun's gone out of it now. I'm committed to dates over the next couple of months so will have to fulfill those but won't take on any more if I can avoid it. I don't want to leave them in the lurch but there will have to be a time limit to my being flexible. As I've been working double the hours I've really wanted to I've put a fair bit away and that should tide me over for ages.
Mr F and I might get our social life back now. Today is the only day in 14 that we'll get to spend togetherI'm going to forget what he looks like soon and his time away is only going to increase if he gets the promotion.
Still got to get through tomorrow though and there are some pretty big hurdles to leap - Bank Holiday Monday, under-staffed, double the amount of tours we'd normally be doing and they're all happening at the same time, plus we have to serve food too and we haven't been left with enough stock. Meh.
Wish me luck

Agree with beanie wise words as always. Plus with possible move you'd have to give it up anyway. If you feel better you know it's the right decision.0
