oooooo - eeeee - how lovely!

...just showed it to OH - who's comment was 'for ladies who talk about budgeting & economizing soo much, you lot do have expensive taste':rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Not so - we just admire clever design :rotfl: Besides - cheaper than an extension or a conservatory!

  • Met my lovely London friend today in Bethnal Green and had lunch at Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium - such fun :D We wandered around Spitalfields afterwards in the sunshine but just window shopped :A So not a hugely spendy day as far as London days out go. I did sneak in a cheeky glass of Prosecco though ;)

Lovely London friend had me in stitches today. She's always saying things like "Did I ever tell you about the time I caught a starling in my knickers?"

Used the train time to finish a creative writing exercise and start a new book :)

Got home to find Mr F had beaten me to it so was glad to have some Bean & Bangers One-Pot & Mash leftover from last night's supper which I could heat up quickly.

I'm just intending to get a little paperwork sorted this evening as Mr F has a head office meeting tomorrow and it'll be an early start.

Hope the week has started well for everyone

  • Spent the whole morning yesterday working my way through the mending pile. It had got quite high :o Gave me a chance to make use of Amaz0n Prim£ on the new telly :D

Did the on-line grocery shop - £2.66 under budget which went into the moving fund.

3 loads of washing dry on the line and a bit of it ironed already :A

New neighbour is working from home today and wants to meet for a catch up so we're going to grab some lunch at the pub :D

Mr F has an interview date for a promotion!

    Happy sunny day all

  • Mr F and I visited the optician today. It hurt. A lot.

Mr F's prescription has changed so he needs new glasses. Fortunately his company pay for a pair of safety glasses for him and these double as a back up pair.

My prescription has changed and I now need varifocals! So 2 new pairs for me. I can't do without them now so have a back up pair for when I leave them somewhere (usually in another county :o) I'll have to wear them for driving now too so got photochromic lenses. The till kept ringing...

As I pretty much need to wear glasses all the time now I am going to give contact lenses a try. If they work out I'll be able to join the reward scheme thingy and get 50% off my new glasses :T

Why does it cost more to replace lenses than to buy a brand new pair of glasses? So wrong. At least I'll be able to sell my old ones on Fleabay and get a little money back that way.

A friend popped in unexpectedly today so we had a little catch up and Halloumi Aubergine Burgers for lunch.

I'd suggested to Mr F that we stay on in town after our appointment and get some supper out but I think he was stunned by the opticians bill. So we came home instead for Pesto Salmon Parcels.

A big spendy day but I'm very grateful that we're able to buy what we need and can choose things we like. I know many aren't in that position.

The weekend starts tomorrow :j I'm off now to review the accounts.

know what you mean about opticians! my husband needs varifocals so £370 worse off yesterday. And he didnt choose the most expensive!
  • I can highly recommend Asda for glasses and frames. My prescription means glasses are massively expensive but I had excellent choice and price in Asda.
