Well ready as I'll ever be.
I have been primped and preened and have extremely bright fuschia nails
Pretty much packed too so Mr F and I are relaxing after our New Potato Salad with Bacon and Blue Cheese supper with a glass of red. No bacon for me of course
Other wedding related dramas are unfolding but thankfully not involving us this time.
Looking forward to a weekend away and a break from cooking
Hope you all have a good one and will catch up when we get back.

Fortune - I am not sure I should admit this but I have read your entire diary over the last few weeks. I know this possibly makes me sound like a complete saddo. I am not I promise ( well maybe a bit). I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading it. I have loved your attitude to having balance in your life - I too have too many lilies sometimes. I have also enjoyed seeing your paintings and made a note of a number of your recipes.
And now it has ended on a bit of a cliffhanger.......the wedding. I hope you enjoy it, I know these things can potentially tricky in a blended family situation - I am sure you will look fabulous and be your very lovely self. Do let us know how it goes we are waiting on tenterhooks....0 -
Well I went to the wedding and I survived - mainly as a result of consuming vast amounts of alcohol
There were good bits and bad bits but I generally just felt... meh.
Pleased it's over and so fed up with the drama that I don't even want to think about it anymore
Such a shame - it should have been the highlight of the year for us.
Bride remembered me at the last when she thanked me profusely for making their honeymoon possible! Seems she has been keeping track of what money has been given and believes there is some left over. Little does she know that I'm intending to spend it on gin and shoes
And that's all I have to say about that.

Evening Fortune, do you mean the remaining wedding fund that you invested hoping to accumulate for them but market went down :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Gin, shoes and frankly and thing else you fancy seems, like a jolly good use of funds.

Hello Busy Mee. How lovely that you visited - and read ALL my diary! I am so touched.
Happily I can get back to normal life now - although the wedding is going to be stalking me on FB for a while I fear.
Speak soon

That's the one Tilly - in fact I think I'm in negative equity now and they owe us :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Today I have eased back into everyday life:
- counted the financial cost of the weekend and we came in under budget
- reconciled the bank accounts and all balanced
- did a couple of loads of washing and got them out on the line
- did the on-line grocery shop and came in about £25 under budget
- made a Bacon & Avocado Frittata for lunch only without the avocado :rotfl: It was past saving
- started a new painting
- made Gnocchi with Pancetta, Spinach & Parmesan Cream
Had a fabulous night's sleep last night. Nothing like your own bed is there.
Take care all
