  • Hi Fortune,

I'm still enjoying reading your diary:) You write about "tours" - do you show a garden in a stately home or am I way off the mark?

Sounds fun and you enjoy it which is a bonus when having to work :D

    Best wishes

Hey Tcat - I have a little part time job taking tours of a nearby estate. They don't pay much but it's a lovey job - gets me out of the house and provides exercise :)

I trod on a bee yesterday and got stung right on the sole of my foot  Mr F had to go to the Kent County Show today on his own as I'm not able to walk :o Both Mr F and I have been grumpy about it. Mr F doesn't have many weekends at home this summer and it was supposed to be one of our precious days out together :( Really need to get over myself - the bee paid a higher price and lots of people are facing greater disappointments than that.

    Money Making:
    • a long day at work yesterday. Very busy and I had two tours booked. I trod on the bee half way through the second tour but proud that I sucked it up and carried on until the end. Didn't want to spoil the day for the customers.
    Money Saving:
    • took lunch into work with me yesterday
    • limped over to Across-the-Lane-Neighbours for a BBQ last night. Took a garden salad made with... well, salad from the garden and some other bits and pieces
    • managed to get my HoF order through. It was for cosmetics I'd run out of and wanted to replace. Went through TCB and used vouchers I'd earned from surveys to pay the majority of the cost
    • much less spent from the entertainment budget this weekend as I wasn't able to go out - there's always a silver lining :)
    • a cupboard lunch.
    Health:
    • lots of walking (and limping) yesterday
    • we may resort to a takeaway this evening though :o
    Lilies:
    • I didn't have an allergic reaction to the bee sting
    • got to have a lovely social evening with friends
    • enforced sitting and sole control of the remote meant that I could catch up on some TV today.
I'm sure I'll be back to running around by tomorrow.

Have a great Sunday evening guys

Hiya. I've been reading back thought your diary. What does CP stand for? I noticed before that you used it to buy some make up. I wonder if it's some type of voucher. You've inspired me to make some Xmas presents this year (time permitting unfortunately). Thank you

    Hi Sarah

CP is Consum£r Puls£. They are interested in knowing about your shopping - clothes, cosmetics, etc. In return you collect points which you can spend on vouchers. You can only join at their invitation and they don't accept referrals. Very occasionally they ask existing members to put people forward so, if I'm asked, I'll let you know.

Some of the other forumites might have some tips for getting on the invitation list.

Ouch about the bee. Hope it gets better soon

Very professional to carry on with the tour though.

Thank you Goldie. I can walk properly today but it's really, really, really, really itchy

My foot is back to a normal size today but it's soooooo itchy. And I know I can't scratch it because that will only make it worse. Thank goodness for antihistamine cream.

    Money Making:
    • did a little more on the preliminary sketch for my current commission.
    Money Saving:
    • Mumbai Potato Wraps for lunch
    • Sausageball Pasta Bake currently in the oven and destined for tonight's supper
    • should be enough of both for meals for me for the next two days. Mr F is away for work for the next 10 week days
    • cancelled this week's veg box as I have enough in the fridge to keep us going for the moment.
    Home Improvement/Maintenance:
    • a little ironing.
    Health:
    • one snack ... twice - 2 Banana & Wild Strawberry Muffins liberated from the freezer :o
    Lilies:
    • gave a neighbour £10 sponsorship money from this month's random acts of kindness budget
    • today's rain means I don't need to water the garden so one less chore
    • may have bought a Barber jacket  I've had my eye on one for ages but couldn't justify the price. Last night, I found the exact style I want on sale for half price. I used some of the extra money I've earned from the new job to buy it.
Just goes to show how things have changed. Before discovering MSE, I'd have bought that jacket at full price. Now, I'm prepared to wait months to get a better deal. It's still quite an expensive purchase but, at half price, it leaves me with money to spend on other things. Chuffed.

Mr F has just come downstairs to tell me he hasn't got any clean pants again :rotfl:I'm such a bad wife.

Don't worry, I've found him some in the ironing.
  • Do you iron his pants?
