My list is growing rapidly now Beanie but there are still a few lilies to be found :)
    • we had a successful shopping trip to Bluewater on Sunday and managed to get a very good quality suit and work coat for Mr F for less than half price
    • had our lunch in the J0hn L£wi$ caf! and I used my January voucher for a free coffee and cake. Mr F returned the favour and treated me to a second coffee later on
    • got some replacement toiletries and a new diary
    • did a bit of window shopping but refrained from buying anything which wasn't on the list :A
    • I managed to be kinder under testing shopping conditions but could have done better. At least I am catching myself when thinking unkind thoughts and reigning them in :o
It was tough getting up when the alarm went off this morning. I left Mr F to catch up on work stuff and went out with Across-the-Lane-Neighbour to help her with some shopping. I contributed a few pounds for parking and petrol but she wouldn't let me pay anything for lunch as I'd bought coffee and cake last week. Re-stocked on some cough pastilles and birthday cards but only a small spend overall.

Supper was Sausage & Broccoli Pasta but I find this recipe a bit dry so added a tin of tomatoes.

I will be busy cooking and baking tomorrow because:

    a) my friends volunteered me for refreshments at the WI meeting tomorrow and then forgot to tell me  and

    b) a friend is coming home from hospital today but is still very poorly and the family need a little help so I'm on a rota for taking them over an evening meal tomorrow.

Another early night is on the cards so see you in the morning

I hope you sewed his name in them :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

And I'd just like to point out that those are very, very kind things :)

Thank you Karma. I don't think I'm an unkind person but I am a bit resentful sometimes.

  • For work jackets, I leave my dry cleaning labels attached as typically I wear similar dark suits to those with whom I attend meetings. It makes it easier to get your jacket back off the racks.

Good idea INOOD - or I could make him wear pink suits

  • As expected, I spent a great deal of the day in the kitchen:
    • made 2 Sticky Malt Loaves - one for the WI and one for breakfasts this week
    • a Bitter Orange & Poppy Seed Cake
    • repaired a loose label on Mr F's new scarf
    • septic tank people called to book a date for the service
    • suit shop called to say the alterations to Mr F's new suit were complete. He'll be able to pop in and pick it up on the way to his next business meeting
    • ironed some shirts for Mr F to take on his next business trip
    • made Butternut Squash Curry for our supper using an Acorn Squash I found in my veg box this week
    • made Leek, Cheese & Bacon Tart with Lemon & Rosemary Wedges for poorly friend and family. Another friend has picked up the meal rota for this evening.
It was 'Swishing' at WI last night. You donate any unwanted Christmas presents which can then be bought by others. Any money raised goes to one of the charities we've nominated. I decluttered 10 items and bought myself a lovely grey scarf for £4.

The cake seemed to go down well and there was a little left over to bring home for Mr F. He was complaining yesterday about the lack of cake in his life :rotfl:You can be reimbursed for any home baked cakes you provide but I donated mine. There was some milk and butter leftover from the meeting so I brought that home instead.

    Happy hump day all
