Hi, FS, glad you had a good Christmas break, and hope the coughs and viruses are getting better.
I'm also going to join in the relaxed evening.
We've got beef curry from the freezer, so no cooking. Then we'll be watching some of the things we recorded while we were away over Christmas. I think it'll be The Apprentice this evening. Maybe we'll have a couple of Belgian chocolates too:)Early retired - 18th December 2014

Me too. No cat and no toblerone but having a little Irish whiskey - just in case I'm getting a cold you understand
.
I quite understand about the Irish whiskey Gally but no cat!Sounds an excellent plan to me, and I'll join you virtually, as soon as I've got my trackies on and my meal has finished bubbling on the hob.

Slowly improving Goldie. The new freezer is definitely earning its keep. Nice to give cooking a miss once in a while. We've polished off a whole large Toblerone :eek:Sounds like you had a lovely time
It was lovely Beanie. Hope you had a good one too.

Life is still pretty much on hold today. We had a very long lie in this morning due to lingering lurgies. Mr F is quite poorly
However, we have at least got dressed today.
I did a quick hover round. The house is still clean and tidy as we've been away but the Fortunate Cat gets separation anxiety and starts to shed hair if we are away for more than a couple of days.
Made a baked Bubble & Squeak for lunch to use up all the vegetables and bits of cheese skulking in the fridge from before Christmas. I've taken a Lentil Spaghetti Sauce out of the freezer for tonight's supper.
I couldn't face traipsing to the local Crap-Op to do a little shop so increased my list to include some store cupboard items and ordered from Waitr0$£. Should still be a little under budget though.
I've had a look at the sales on-line but everything we need seems to still be at full price. I will have to get Mr F a new suit though - he's left a pair of suit trousers somewhere, possibly Virginia
My new glittery nail varnish has started to chip so I'd better sort my nails out in preparation for tomorrow. I fear it will take some removing
Happy Twixtmas everyone

Two possible responses:
1.:eek::eek: One of THOSE types of holidays was it :eek::eek:?
or
2. Neither wonder he's caught a cold, going out without his kegs.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hi rtandon - I'm not sure I can claim the stable and sensible title, not after New Year's Eve anyway

Happy New Year you lovely, lovely people. And I hope your troubles only last as long as my resolutions did
As is traditional, I've had a reflect on our goals for last year:- we have overpaid more than £10k on the mortgage :T This was largely due to cashing in an investment but also regular, monthly overpayments and Tillytidies. My mortgage statement is due so I'll be able to work out the exact figures soon
- we saved an emergency fund
- Mr F got a new job and increased our income
- I gave up my little admin job and did more painting
- lots of progress was made on home improvements including a new oil tank and decorating the living room
- we had a holiday
- our new organic veg box delivery has meant we are eating more British, seasonal produce and have increased our fruit and veg intake substantially.
So what's next:- we'd like to make a contribution to DS2's wedding so have started saving for that
- there's more to do around the house
- improvements to health and fitness
- and I'd like to be kinder this year. I find myself becoming less tolerant and understanding as I get older
- along with the usual OPs and general MS activity of course.
