Blimey I always thought you were only allocated to one case.

  • Sorry to hear about the misery of your jury service. It all sounds a bit of a nightmare. One of my colleagues had to do it when my other colleague was off on long term sick. We went from 4 staff to 2 and were really struggling to cope at work while he just spent 2 weeks sat around waiting for a case! He had one on the second day and they pleaded guilty and that was it!! Total waste of time!
Hope you don't have to do a 3rd week! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

    LBM 01/03/12 Debt £[STRIKE]27924[/STRIKE]
    now £0 100% paid :j  :T
  • I'm freeeeeee!!! Both of the cases due to start yesterday fell through so we were all discharged :j All that grumping for nothing. So pleased I'm home to welcome Mr F back today :D He'll have been travelling for about 18 hours so I'm planning to spend today looking after him.

    So back to normality:
    • I only had to go in to Court for the afternoon yesterday so left a little early to visit the shops. Exchanged a present that arrived through the post broken. Picked up some fun gifts for the Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal http://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/christmas-present-appeal. Picked up a few thank you gifts for the family who are looking after the Fortunate Cat over Christmas. Used my points card and some 3 for 2 offers so only spent £16.50
    • treated myself to lunch in Caf£ N£r0 though - £8.10 :o The caf! looks over the pedestrian shopping area and it was lovely to sit there looking down at the festive lights and people watching
    • Waitr0$£ delivered yesterday - £6.11 under budget
    • went over to Across-the-Lane-Neighbours to celebrate my freedom. Took a bottle of white from the rack and spent a fun evening making up example Christmas Cards for a workshop she is running today.
I'm looking forward to getting back to healthy meals again. I've only gone off the rails a little these past 2 weeks but it's a slippery slope. The veg box will be arriving shortly - I wonder if they'll be anything interesting in it this time.

Hope you are all well and thank you for sympathising.

I'm pleased for you! I'd no idea you could be allocated to several cases  thank heavens you were discharged! Celebratory lunch sounds a very good idea after all that :)

    Love this comparison :rotfl:
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

  • Mr F is home :jand we are quickly getting back to normal after a lazy day yesterday
    • decanted Damson Gin, Sloe Gin and Spiced Rhubarb Vodka. The Vodka was a recipe from my special recipe book and is delicious! I've tried Rhubarb Vodka before but wasn't keen on the result - this new recipe is fab
    • the veg box arrived and included Rebellion Tomatoes
    • made Squash, Ricotta & Sage Pasta Bake for supper last night. Lovely taste but quite a dry texture. I think it needs to be served with roasted tomatoes or something else with a bit of moisture in it. I added half of a Festival Squash which was sulking in the fridge.
    An expensive day today:
    • posted my Jury Service expenses claim
    • posted the Christmas presents that needed to be sent
    • bought Euro's for our Christmas trip
    • popped into the local primary school's Christmas Fair and got caught for a raffle ticket
    • picked up the payment for my Bee paintings from the florist
    • dropped a few items off at the Charity Shop
    • got my hair cut and coloured. They gave me a little box of chocolates for Christmas :)which Mr F and I are eating now
    • popped into the Co-op to pick up the ingredients for Christmas Pudding Vodka. All made up and left to steep for the next few days
    • neighbour arrived with some beers for Mr F as a thank you for some help he'd given them
    • Mr F repaired the TV remote :T The 'OK' button had been sticking and a new remote would have cost us about £22. He is a clever chap
    • made Parsnip and Apple Soup for supper served with Peshwari Naan from the freezer.
I've still so much to catch up on having lost those two weeks. Oh well it will keep me out of trouble until Christmas so at least I'll not get any coal in my stocking :rotfl:

Hope your preparations are going well

I'm an early bird anyway Beanie but losing two weeks to Jury Service really helped to focus my efforts.

  • The good stuff:
    • got the Christmas tree and decorations up
    • had a tidy downstairs
    • went out to see a friend of ours play folk music at a local pub. The place was full and there was a great atmosphere. Mr F had a couple of beers and I had a soft drink
    • went on to another pub (does that qualify as a 'Crawl') for supper. Costs to be met from the entertainment budget
    The not so good stuff:
    • I have tonsillitis!
    • eldest DS has split up with his girlfriend. I am sad for them both, however, they have been unhappy for some time and I think it's the right decision. Is it very selfish of me to be wondering what to do about the Christmas presents I've brought?
Happy Monday everyone (said in a very croaky voice).

Ouch, tonsillitis isn't nice :( hope you're not in too much pain. I don't blame you for wondering about the presents, I'd be wondering what the etiquette is in situations like that ...
