  • Feeling even more rubbish today. Mr F had to get up at 5.30 am to go to Head Office but sorted himself out and left me sleeping :) A few hours later he was back having encountered an impassable accident on the M25!

    I have grumpily trundled on:
I will be off to bed straight after supper and hope I'm over the worst by the time I wake up tomorrow. I've cancelled all commitments now until Saturday although I might need to pop into town at the end of the week.

It's only a little virus but I'm always terrified of it turning to bronchitis as that sets my asthma off and I'm poorly for weeks then.

Send me healthy vibes please everybody

Aw, really hoping you start to feel better soon, FS x Have you got antibiotics? - I know that they're not keen on giving them for tonsillitis nowadays, but I normally manage to get some because I'm prone to throat and chest infections which will linger for months if I don't (last time resulting in a chest xray) and my inhalers just don't cut it at that point, so they're nice to me :D

Love the sound of both recipes - have noted both of them :0 x

Look after yourself. Good idea to stay in as much as possible - it's cold out there!

  • as I say this, but I think I'm over the worst. Yesterday was a bit of a wash out. I did a bit of washing, folding and putting away but took to my bed late afternoon. Mr F popped out to pick up some dry cleaning and to replenish the medicine cupboard.

I'm rustling up some lunch now - Courgette, Pea & Pesto Soup with a tin of chopped tomatoes added for good measure. Then I'm going to attempt to paint the outstanding woodwork in the living room and do a little ironing.

Mr F has a final day of holiday to use up before 1 January so has taken tomorrow off to drive me into town to pick up the framed Jag. We'll do a little shopping and have lunch out while we're there.

I'm hoping to be almost back to myself by then as I have a whole house to clean before Christmas

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and good wishes - I'm sure they are speeding my recovery :)

I'm glad to hear you feel like you've probably turned a corner - gently does it though, like Goldie said, its cold out there! Hope you're pleased with the frame for the Jag.

I have just got over tonsillitis too, I think it was a virus type of bug as I don't normally suffer from it. DS had a full cold but no sore throat, I just had the sore throat and my glands were swollen. Did not bother with the doctors as they usually just send you away saying take paracetomol. I did find gargling with dissolvable asprin eased the pain with my throat.
Hope your feeling better now :)
