Glad you had a lovely time
I definitely feel your pain re: decorating. It seems never ending! xDebt remaining:
Mortgage - £117,759 (£134,600, Nov 2013)
Work overpayment and home improvement loan paid back (£19200)

The F&B paint didn't turn up on Tuesday when it should have. Instead, I got a 'phone call from H0m£ba$£ at 5.30 pm to say they didn't have it in stock after all! It was due at their central warehouse on Thursday though and they could get it to me 3 days after that  I, not very politely, declined and cancelled the order.
We managed to pick up 2 pots from our nearest F&B shop, but that was all they had and we had to order the final pot which is due in today. So decorating stalled yesterdayVery irritated to have lost the time as I hate living in chaos. Still, we've only lost a day and should be able to continue later. Only the cutting in and glossing left to do.
Mr F decided not to go away for the weekend after all. There's a problem with his truck and he couldn't face the 5 hour journey. I think he's a bit disappointed but at least we can finish the decorating together.
Ho hum, back to the paint brush.

I'm very impressed at your decorating. We invariably cut corners on preparation and then regret it! I bet it'll look lovely when you're finished.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%
Overpayments - £48829.37 :j:j:j
Mortgage paid off Jan 20200 -
Thanks guys. No sign of the paint yet
It will be lovely when it's finished. Print Room Yellow is quite a striking colour - it's certainly warming the room up and giving it a golden glow.

Well, nearly. We've a small alcove between the living room and the kitchen and I've still got the glossing to do there. But, our main living area is now decorated and back to normal :j Thank goodness - Mr F and I detest decorating, I'd forgotten how much.
It is worth all the pain though. I love the colour, it's giving everything a warm golden glow. Want a peek?
This is the most accurate representation of the colour although I haven't been able to capture the glow.
The colour is too lemon here but you can see the Bessemer which I am very proud of. It was a pale oak and stained with paint from the decorating efforts of the previous owner. We sanded it down and I dyed it. First time I've done anything like that and I'm really pleased with the result. You can also see the new brass vents which cover the air bricks either side of the fireplace (Building Regs requirement). These were previously covered with cheap, plastic vents which looked horrible. Now they are smaller and more of a design feature. Quite expensive but really worth the money for the difference they've made.
So, life can get back to normal now. I always feel like I'm in a time warp when decorating. Everything gets put on hold and you lose track of what's happening in the outside world. Or is that just me
Talking about returning to normality - supper this evening, Leek & Potato Gratin with Herby Roast Tomatoes :rotfl:
Hope you've had a lovely weekend

Oh the joy of no decorating
There's still some to do I know but I've taken a day off from it. Instead I've:
- supplied Mr F with tea and snacks all day. He's back at work today and facing a mountain of emails
- chased the endowment sale
- received a call from Homeba$£ apologising for their rubbish service. They have given me a £10 voucher as a goodwill gesture
- sorted out some paperwork
- been visited by neighbours bearing plums from their tree
- popped over to Across-the Lane-Neighbour's to set up a meeting up to discuss the PTFA
- cooked Spanish Eggs with Chorizo & Peppers for lunch
- reconciled Mr F's expenses
- OP'd £17.13 - the proceeds of my recent Bumblebee painting sale
- fed Mr Marmite the 50p I liberated from Mr F's change dish this morning
- had leftover Leek & Bacon Gratin for supper but this time with Grilled Courgettes :rotfl:
Happy Monday everyone
