I'll grab the *umpteenth* vote for 'not funny' - perhaps it's a chap thing?
I have to say, I've gone off Mr Palin too. I liked his early globe-trotting series, but I think that he's just turned into a grumpy pants. His series on 'Brazil' had me shouting at the TV - he was so rude and dismissive

Glad I'm not alone
Got completely side-tracked today. Mr F had to work this morningHe was a bit slow getting started and I knew it wouldn't take much to distract him. A neighbour popped round to borrow a router (theirs got blown in last night's storm) and he and Mr F started setting up some internal security cameras we bought some time ago. I took over as he'd never have got any work done otherwise. One security camera set up (it took aaaaaages) - nothing on my to do list accomplished.
I had a lovely night out last night watching the Leavers' Play - the children were amazingly talented. The PTFA were selling drinks so a few pints of Pimms were drunk - yes, I did say 'pints' £5 spent. We went back to Across-the-Lane-Neighbours after for more drinks so I provided a bottle of white from the wine rack. I am not, however, an irredeemable lush. I only drank a moderate amount and am hangover free today
Mr F had a great time at Monty Python Live too - there's no accounting for taste :rotfl:
We went to an event in Yalding late afternoon today. You may remember they suffered very badly in the winter floods. The residents had organised a village fete to thank the organisations and volunteers who helped them and raise funds for them. Isn't that lovelyMr F was invited along with the other 4x4 response members who got free entry and free drinks at the bar. They'd organised food and entertainment and there was a lovely atmosphere. We indulged in an ice cream each - £3.50 spent.
On the way home we popped into our local country pub. The landlord is moving on after 10 years so we stopped to say good luck and have a quick drink - £5.20 spent.
Back home now waiting for the next storm to break. We love watching storms and we've had some pretty amazing ones this weekend.
Have a good night all

Turns out the cameras weren't quite set up and I've wasted far too many hours today finding out how to forward ports and set up DNS services  Dull, dull, dull, dull, dull (although I have learnt a lot).
Mr F bought the cameras before we decided to have the alarm put in but he didn't finish setting them up because it was "too difficult". Tell me about it!
Anyhow, we now have 2 internal security cameras in the house which we can control through our mobile 'phones. Get me!
It wasn't all bad today though. We were invited to Sunday lunch with some friends and had a fabulous meal and a good laugh. I offered to take the puddings so made Raspberry Tiramisu and Lemon Curd & Yoghurt Fool but with blueberries rather than have more raspberries. Also took along a bottle of red from the wine rack.
Mr F is away with work tomorrow - handy as I have a lot of housework to catch up on and guests arriving at the weekend
Hope you've had a good weekend everyone

Did you have that storm this afternoon, from about 3pm to 5pm?
We had a lot of thunder rumbling around, and quite a lot of rain too.
Nothing like Friday evening though. In one direction we had a beautiful sunset, and in the other direction, we could see wave after wave of ominous cloud rolling in.
Hopefully the worst of the storms are over nowEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Hi Goldiegirl. We did have a bit of a storm but it didn't live up to Friday's. I'm hoping the rain starts easing off now as there are lots of end of term activities going on and we have family staying at the weekend.

Spent yesterday cleaning the bedrooms :Aand eating straight from the fridge
I turn into Bridget Jones when Mr F is away :rotfl:
Reconciled the bank statements and made a few Tillytidies.
Today my plan is to do some ironing, help out at the School Leavers' Party, and clean the dining room. Mr F is due home this evening :j but late. Planning a Prawn & Courgette Curry as that won't spoil if I need to re-heat it.
Tore off a finger nail whilst changing sheets yesterday - ouch! Who knew housework was a dangerous occupation.
Have a great Tuesday all

Hi there rtandon. It was a phrase I stole from gallygirl who coined it after a particularly impressive account tidying run by Tilly.
