A busy weekend and start to the week:
- we went to our local village annual barbeque on Saturday. You take your own meat and a salad or desert to share. I took Meatball Kebabs with Barbeque Sauce and a Chocolate Brownie & Raspberry Trifle. Mr F took a couple of beers and I took G&T cunningly disguised as water in a sports bottle :rotfl:Lovely to catch up with some neighbours we haven't seen for a while
- a visit to the Kent County Show on Sunday. We took a packed lunch but splashed out on a coffee each and a bun to share. £20 each to get in  There was loads to see and do though and we made a full day of it. Only purchase was a selection of waxed local cheeses to keep for when we have dinner parties. One is a Sticky Toffee Cheese which is delicious
- Step this morning and then a trip into the market town to do some chores and get my hair cut

I saw the Kent County Show on the local news. Looked like there was a lot to see and so.
A couple of times we've been to Detling for the Antiques and Collectors Fairs. It's one of the bigger fairs - I just love looking round, and trying not to buy things I don't need
Glad all is well with youEarly retired - 18th December 2014

I read this as Dieting Antique Fairs - myriad thoughts crossed my mind about ageing dieting tools, clothes, books - my mind was boggling.

'Dieting Antique' is probably quite an apt description of me at the moment!

I've completed all the tasks I can now for the admin job :T So that's it unless anything else comes up in August. I've some paperwork and my claim form to drop in this morning and then I can stop thinking about it. Other stuff achieved:
- completed some further paperwork on the endowment ready to post today
- ordered a crate of wine from Laithwait£$ - they have an offer on for a free bottle of red and free mystery magnum:D
- Spanish Rice & Prawn One-Pot from the meal plan for supper
- spent the evening pottering in the garden with Mr F. All looks very tidy now and I've been able to plan 2 meals with courgettes this week

Mr F is at the Farnborough Air Show today [STRIKE]on a jolly [/STRIKE]working :rotfl:I'm waiting for him to get home so I can start supper. Progress today:
- Zumba this morning
- posted the rest of the endowment paperwork
- dropped the last of the admin paperwork and my claim into the office
- some housework
- some very important research on how I'm going to spend August's home improvement budget
I'd planned on an iron bedstead for the main guest room but we already have a very good bed in there. Think I'll settle for an iron bed head - much cheaper and Laura A$hl£y have a sale on at the moment. I've also got my eye on a brass hat and coat rack which looks like an old train luggage rack. Mr F has a hat collection from our travels abroad and the rack would make for a great display. The rack is also in the sale. Finally, I've found some quirky insect drawer knobs which will be perfect for bringing all the mismatching furniture in the guest room together. Doesn't take long to spend money does it :rotfl:
- planning Simple Salmon with Spring Pasta for supper. The Tarragon in my garden was looking a bit second-hand when I did the meal planning so I ordered some with the weekly shop. Just been out to the garden to discover it's having a second lease of life - doh!
Batten down the hatches - storms are on the way apparently.

Hi Fortune
Just stopped by to say I love your diary, your positivity and your menu planning!
I'm also loving that courgettes are featuring in the meals ... we've had to eat courgettes with everything for the past week! May make some chutney at the weekend if we get many more. Glad your harvest is plentiful too! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

And am I allowed to say how green I am at your plentiful supply of courgettesI've dishes on the planner to make with courgettes, thinking that as it is the season, they could be snapped up reasonably in the supermercados...... ha! If anything, they are dearer than they are in mid-December! Oh how I really am beginning to miss growing my own. Ho Hum
I'm liking the sound of your home-improvement budget items Fortune. I daren't think on things like that yet, we're still at the stage of trying to get the tradespeople into the house to make it worthy of having nice things in each room:D
