Hairdressing charge is a bit naughty, plus the raffle ticket - £5 seems steep.

Thanks Tilly. Apparently there was nothing to separate the candidates technically so they had to choose the one they thought would fit the culture best. Mr F already has a good job which he enjoys so we are absolutely fine.
I am fuming at the hairdressing cost. We had an agreement and, if he wanted to change that, he should have spoken to me first. It's not the first time it's happened - last time I challenged it but there was a lot of too-ing and fro-ing between the receptionist and my hairdresser and it made me feel really uncomfortable. Time to look for a new hairdresser I think.Tilly says it well! Plus one here on all of that, and *horrified* at a raffle ticket for £5!!!
Hi Karmacat. The raffle is for charity. It was mentioned whilst I was having my hair done and I thought I had been suitably unenthusiastic. We regularly give to charity but we like to choose which ones we give to. When it came to paying the subject was brought up again and pushed quite hard. There were a lot of people in the area and, although I'm not a shrinking violet, I was too embarrassed to refuse. Perhaps I was a little less resilient than usual after the events of the day. Anyway, its' done now - you never know I might win :rotfl:

What a shame about mr F! And your hairdresser sounds to be taking the mickey! Like you say.... maybe it's time to find another! That is not on!

Alarm engineer called today. Apparently there is nothing wrong with the system - they'd noticed that we were triggering the alarm in the morning (forgetting we had one) so they changed something centrally from the office so we had a bit of warning before it went off. Would have been good if they'd told us that! All I knew was that the alarm was making different noises from before. Not a wasted trip for him though as the sounder on the outside of the house wasn't lighting up and he sorted that out.
MS:- Step class this morning
- curtain poles arrived. Did I forget to mention those
I ordered a curtain pole for our guest bedroom and some curtain rods for the living room (40% off at Laura A$hl£y). The guest bedroom has a blackout blind but no curtains at the moment and looks a little bare. It's the last room in the house I need to buy curtains for. The living room curtains are very heavy and I'm worried about damaging them by pulling on the material. The rods should help. I've run a wax candle along the curtain poles as well to help the rings move more smoothly
- I'd also ordered some hair products which were delivered today. I've completed run out of my favourite brand. I did shop around but the best deal I could find was 4 free sample sizes and free delivery
- Mr F is back tonight. Sausages with Onion Gravy from the meal plan is on the menu for supper. I have some Parsnip & Leek Mash leftover and will use up a jar of caramelised onion chutney for the gravy.
Have a great weekend everybody!

A few bright hours today meant I was able to do some more work on the portrait. It's nearly finished!
Today's MS:- Spiced Parsnip Soup from the freezer for lunch. Made some Cheese & Potato Bread with Sage and Caramelised Onion to go with it. Sage was from the garden and I used some Onion Marmalade for the filling - yum!
- a home manicure
- it'll be Veg & Cheesy Rice Bake from the meal plan for supper tonight
Hope your weekend is going well
