  • Ah, I didn't realise they could cause staining, but then my son only has to wear them at night anyway.
I have loved reading your diary by the way :)

Thank you - it's lovely to have the company.

  • ... nearly. I did give in to a square of dark chocolate this evening, it being Saturday night and all. However, I did have enough calories left for it :A

    Update on the day:
    • builder friend managed to lift the pit :T It came out in one piece and popped back into shape straight away. There is some water in the hole but not enough to cause any problems at the moment. Having said that it's still raining and the forecast is for heavy rain until Friday
    • popped to the chemists to pick up a prescription - no cost as I get these free
    • took out £20 whilst in the village as the next WI meeting is on Monday and I'll need some cash for that
    • parts arrived for the shower :) They are the wrong ones :( Fortunately we have a shower head in the bath so can manage without the shower for a while
    • made Spiced Root Soup for lunch http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1871/spiced-root-soup-with-crisp-spiced-onions. There was enough for 6 servings so we'll have some for lunch tomorrow and put the rest in the freezer
    • did a little admin work
    • had the remaining Meatballs in Goulash Sauce for supper tonight
    • Mr F and I were thinking about going to the cinema this weekend but, as we are still feeling a bit partied out and the weather is so atrocious, we'll go next weekend instead. That means £50 from the entertainment budget won't get spent so I've transferred it to savings :)
Hope you are all warm and dry.

  • Mr F goes back to work tomorrow and we'll be back into the usual routine. I de-Christmassed the house today - it always makes me a little :( MS:
    • a hour's admin work this morning. I have a lot I can do in the next few months so am going to try and do a little each day
    • pit is back in on a new concrete foundation. The sides need to be shored up now with layers of hard core and concrete. This will take a few days as each layer needs to 'go off' before the next one is added. Should all be done by the weekend though
    • Mr F repaired the light switch in my truck (it was an advisory on last year's MOT)
    • Spiced Root Soup again for lunch
    • caught up with the ironing whilst catching up with some Christmas TV. We've hardly watched anything we recorded
    • Chorizo Pilaf for supper tonight to use up some stuff
    • another good diet day - 3.4lbs lost so far :T
More heavy rain was forecast for today but this morning was quite bright and this afternoon just drizzle. A storm is heading our way tonight though - oh joy.

Hope everyone has a good (dry) week.

  • Hi Fortune, batten down the hatches in readiness for the storm

Well done on the weight loss and I agree, it's always sad taking down the decorations. However on a happy note, it's only 354 sleeps and about 316 until the first Sunday in Advent :)

    Right, I'd better scurry off

Hi Tilly. Weather as predicted sadly - water, water everywhere. I'm told this is the last of the really rotten stuff, let's hope so.

Not sure my waistline could cope with Christmas any sooner tbh :rotfl:

    See you later

  • Hi there,
Hope that this is the last of the bad weather for you! I live up north on top of a big hill in a mobile home! Scary stuff in this wind but at least we don't get floods. Must be awful for you with all that flooding! Fingers crossed this is the end of it now x

  • Blimming awful weather again today - when is it going to stop? Today's MS:
    • braved the howling winds and driving rain to go to Step class - tough after so long away
    • sun came out this afternoon for a tiny bit. Showed up the dust in the house though so a little housework was required
    • the next tier of concrete has gone around the pit
    • called the shower company. They have sent us the wrong part and are sending the new one out today
    • Butternut Squash & Sage Soup for supper tonight http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2760972/butternut-squash-and-sage-soup. Mr F is away with work tonight so I took the opportunity of having something low calorie. I heartedly recommend it - it was delicious!
    • realised that the WI meeting is tomorrow not tonight (just in time)
Haven't got any admin work done today. Made the mistake of checking what we'd recorded over Christmas and decided to watch 'Death comes to Pemberley' instead :rotfl:Must go, Episode 3 is calling!

    Happy Monday

    Hi there GMOOD

we're on top of a hill too and it gets very blowy up here. Fortunately, we are protected from the prevailing winds by our neighbours. It's only a tiny hamlet but we are a semi (so protected on that side of the house) and have a farm and another two semi's opposite shielding us. That seems to be enough to keep us in one piece. Our neighbours usually suffer a bit though. No flooding for us as we're on high ground but loads in the surrounding areas.

Can't imagine being in this in a mobile home  Hope you keep your feet on the ground.
