Merry (belated) Christmas, and wishing you a very happy 2014!
  • What she said ^^^^^^^!!
  • We've had a fabulous Christmas away, following tradition by eating and drinking far too much :o Thanks to everyone for the Christmas wishes. Much fun has been had and we are currently within budget :T but we are glad to be home at last.

We have been very lucky at home. The storms have devastated much of Kent and many of our neighbours have been flooded, suffered damage to their properties or been without power for days. We are entirely dry and in tact. We lost power on Friday night for a few hours but it was back on by the time we had to get ready to leave on Christmas Eve. Across-the-lane-neighbour wasn't as lucky. They were without power for 4 days all over Christmas and spent the duration at our house as a result. Our houses are opposite each other but we are on separate power lines.

Today has mainly been spent recovering from the festivities:
    • Across-the-lane-neighbour left us a card and a bottle of pink fizz as a thank you for the use of the house :)
    • the bananas we forgot to eat before we left were looking very black but were fine for putting in a Raisin & Banana Loaf. They also gave me a chance to try out a new recipe from the baking book I got for Christmas
    • did the weekly food shopping. Some re-stocking was required so I'm only expecting to be a few pence under budget when it arrives
    • Lentil Chilli & Rice from the freezer for supper tonight
    • a home manicure is planned later with one of the nail varnishes from my Christmas set from Mr F
Mr F is on a call out at the moment looking for a missing person and my thoughts are with everyone for whom this Christmas has not been an easy time.

    Take care all

    Fortune x
  • What a relief for his family. Mr F is on his way home :)
