Thank you for the welcome back. MS is continuing:
- did the weekly on-line shop yesterday. Delivered today - £26.59 under budget and free cherry tomatos due to short sell by date :T
- art class in the afternoon - Impressionism. Not my favourite style to paint in but I gave it a good go. Used my new photo paper to print off a reference photo of water lilies - it was either those or sunflowers :rotfl: It came out really well so I've done a further sketch today to do as a watercolour
- Couscous with Chorizo & Chickpeas for supper http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3097/couscous-with-chorizo-and-chickpeas. Just for me as Mr F was away so plenty left for another meal later on
- an impromptu call to breakfast from some of the mums this morning to celebrate/commiserate the 11+ results - £5.39
- we popped into the market town together afterwards to do some chores. Just picking up some firelighters for me - £1.39
- a 59p Tillytidy
- baked the WI Christmas Cake - my very first one. It looks just like the picture :j
- Mr F home tonight so Jamie's Courgette Carbonara from the meal plan for supper http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pasta-recipes/beautiful-courgette-carbonara.
Sleep well

Well a fab weekend so far:
- back to Step on Friday - ouch!
- friend joined me for lunch. We had the leftover Chorizo & Chickpeas with Couscous. She brought me some home made plum jam and some G0ld£n D£l1c10u$ apples from the tree in her garden
We sat and had a good old chat in front of the logburner (new logs work!)
- got a note from the 01l Club to say they were ordering for my area. £37 less for 500l this time :T That should see us through the winter
- made a Dorset Apple Cake http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/dorset-apple-cake - joining the WI makes you a master baker apparently :rotfl:(I suspect there will be many more apple based recipes appearing on this thread - we have loads!)
- had some pastry in the fridge (left over from last week's quiche) so made Cheese & Marmite Pasties http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2219678/cheese-and-marmite-pasties for supper which we had with chips and beans. They were lovely - especially with a nice bottle of red from the rack
- started on my water lily watercolour. Pleased with the results so far
- Meatballs with Pesto Mash http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7711/meatballs-with-pesto-mash from the freezer for supper last night. We wanted something quick as...
- ... Mr F took me out on a date last night
We went to the cinema to see Rush. Mr F's choice, and not the sort of thing I'd usually choose, but I really enjoyed it. Plus we got one ticket free through my 0d£0n points. £10.66 but we spent £5.25 on Pick & Mix when we got there. It appears Mr F has no concept of 100 grams :rotfl:Still a reasonably cheap night out for us though. Came home and finished off the red. The rack is looking a bit bare now though so I can feel a Laithwait£$ order coming on
- a 63p Tillytidy
- 37p in change discovered in the bottom of my purse so fed to Mr Marmit£
Keep warm and dry all

Hi, Fortune, did you post a courgette and tomato soup on here recently?
I took a screen print to follow but unfortunately seem to have just missed the OP's name and I wanted to stop by and thank them for posting it. When I think of food I normally think of you, Tilly and MCI but I think it might have been you?
Regards

Mr F is a mild mannered man but if we run out of tea or Marmit£ in this house, I'm in big trouble
Courgette & Tomato Soup wasn't me I'm afraid and I've never made houmous (obviously this is something joining the WI will rectify in the future).

Thanks Fortune, hopefully whoever it was will see my post on your thread and see my thanks, it really was nice and I had it twice for lunch last week and have a few batches left in the freezer
Re marmite, I'm with Mr F, don't keep it in my house now but if I have a beef Sunday lunch at my mother dippies is a must before lunch, fab in in it's own right but extra fab with a bit of marmite on too
I'm not sure how 'dippies' translates round MFW parts? I have a feeling it's a northern thing and know that some southern colleagues have never heard of it and then turned their noses up once I've explained
