    Hi Hannah,

Just wanted to say I've read your diary and you are doing so well! It's so tough when you're at the bottom of your credit as the safety net is gone, I only had to do it for a couple of days (pay day was yesterday) and it was hard work!

Tought me a few lessons at any rate. For example, I had food, but couldn't make a meal out of anything without buying other stuff, so I'm thinking about what stocks I need to have in a crisis.

You can get through these last few days :)
Debt free (finally) and saving a deposit for my first home.
  • Evening

Had a really good day today (appart from having to work 8-5) went to my dad's after for a BBQ with my family ended in a massive water fight and me driving half an hour home in wet jeans, pants and one of my dad's T-shirts. Forgot I needed petrol on the way there so had to pop to the petrol station on the way back looking like a drowned incontinent rat in oversized mens clothes :rotfl:

Anyway money, money, money, money.......put £10 petrol in to tide my over till pay day. That should be all I need to spend until pay day next tue so should have 5 NSD in a row  Wish me luck. On a plus side only 5 days til pay day :j I really do feel differently about money now normally i'd be excited about pay day so i could treat myself. Now i'm excited to have money in my bank but not necessarly spend it. What has happened to me :A Fingerscrossed it lasts. Luckily i'm still addicted to this forum so should keep me on track.

Will be back tomorrow to report on my (fingers crossed) NSD

Jealous of you having a water fight, I feel like jumping a swimming pool right now, I'm so hot in my room!

Good to see it's changing your attitude about money. I'm still waiting for my attitude to change more lol.
  • Hey,

Just got back from work had a bit of a play with the kitten.

    NSD today :j 4 more days :T

My BF text saying he fancies Pizza tonight and said he'd treat me. Feel bad it's him spending money again but he know's i'm trying to clear my debt at the moment and i've told him I wouldn't be spending money on takeaways for a while. Will plan a few nice meals to cook when I go food shopping to make up for it.

Hope you all have a good night

  • Hey:wave:

Got a night shift tonight so get a day to chill done some tidying and cleaning etc. Have written a letter to my bank asking for my bank charges to be refunded. Will print this off at work tonight and post on my way home. Fingers crossed.

Sooo pay day is soon...have worked out a budget....

I have been thinking I will leave my self every pay day ( 2 x a month 15th and last day)

£20 petrol (if i need more than this it will come out of my entertainement fund as this is enought to last as long as I don't travel to far)
    £30 food
    £10 toiletries
    £100 entertainment
    So £160 per pay day

After all bills and the above budget is removed I will have £472 to pay off debt per month.

-£180 loan repayment per month leaves £292 to spread across CC, Overdraft and Joint bank account.

I think the £100 entertainment money is high but it is less than I am used to. I wil also use this money to plan ahead and buy birthday presents any left at the end will be put aside for emergancies (is christmas an emergancie:rotfl:)

If I stick to the above plan my debt will be cleared in 20 months my loan has 21 months left. I receive a quartely bonus from work especting £200 maybe more at the end of august. I will split these payment is half. Half to be paid of debt and half to go into the emergancy fund.

any comments, advice, tips etc would be great.

  • Just realised i've not taken into account interest on the CC's:mad::eek::mad::eek::mad::eek::mad::eek:

I have recently tried to get 0% credit cards to transfer the balance but have been refused.

Any ideas? or does just paying them of as soon as I can sound like the best plan?

    Thanks x

If you've just been refused a CC then it's best to wait 6 months before applying again.

During that 6 months, pay as much as you can towards your debts using the snowball calculator, so that you pay them off in the right order. That will give you an exact DFD taking into account interest too.

Hopefully by then you'll be more likely to get a 0% - I found it easier to get them again as time went on :)

  • Morning, Evening, Afternoon.

Finished work at 6.30 am this morning and got up at 10:eek: was to bright to sleep and the kitten had been asleep with BF all night so decided it was play time. Good job she's cute:A She brings toys up onto the bed and drops them so you play with her. Not to bad as from the bed you can throw them down the stairs which she then chases plays with a bit then brings it back in her mouth to do again. Maybe i could rent her out to a circus.

Decided to get up and watch the opening ceremony as I was a little gutted I missed it last night. A friend text asking if she could borrow my giant cupcake mould so she popped over and have a couple of brew's and a catch up then watched the olympics. So althought i'll regret the lack of sleep later at least i've had a nice day instead of wasting it sleeping i'm off tomorrow so can catch up then kitten permitting.

    So money...

Not much to report had to grab some cat food yesterday so used the last on the money in my purse. I forgot to print the bank charges paperwork last night so will do that tonight. Today will be a NSD. Have a couple of Love films here ready for our days off and also mondays olympic's look quite good so should be easy to not spend money.......watch this space. 2 more days not long now:rotfl: Still feeling a bit weird about actually having money it seems like it's been so long.

Right off to sort my self out for work

Sooo the kitten has chewed throughout another laptop charger so typing this on my phone grrr. New one ordered so should be here soon. Luckily we pay for items like this out of the joint account.

Gonna have a big bath and pampering session. Usually if I'm off on a Sunday I'd go out for Sunday dinner. Just had a look and I have frozen mince and some
Veg and potatoes go going to make a sheapards pie instead. Also taken some left over
Chilli out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow.

May pop and Hoover out the car later think it only costs £1 so no NSD today but it really needs doing.

    Right bath time xx

I hate having to get new laptop chargers as well. I usually drop my laptop as it's plugged in, onto the connector! So sometimes it bends, and doesn't stay in properly.

Sounds like you're keeping on top of things though,
