Why do people exect delivery tomorrow but pay for 2nd class?

The number of E.bay sellers that dont offer a special delivery or even first class recorded service flabbergasts me.
Sometimes people need things quickly, its not all about price and those offering a rapid postage option always sell far more than those with 6-10 days postage times.
Many people have this thing called work to do, they might order friday as they are in saturday .
Trying to guess which day it will arrive, get the card, drive to the post office parcel depot is never a good option.

That sounds more the seller hadn't posted for the first 5 or 6 days rather than 2nd class taking 11 days! You're right not to give 5 stars. However, my last 2nd class post item took eleven days, and it arrived five days after I sent a polite email to the seller enquiring about the non-arrival. I'm not giving that seller 5* for how quickly the item arrived.
1st class recorded is no quicker than 1st class standard post. I used to offer Special Del on my listings but a few people ordered after the post offices had closed and still expected it to be posted that day!!The number of E.bay sellers that dont offer a special delivery or even first class recorded service flabbergasts me.
There is no guarantee that 1st class recorded will arrive next day and Special Delivery Saturday is even more expensive than normal Special Delivery which is already expensive. Many people have this thing called work to do, they might order friday as they are in saturday .0 -

What did their dispatch time say? If it says they don't post for 7 days then giving them a neutral and low stars is very unfair.elisebutt65 wrote: »I'm a buyer & really PO'd today to get a message that an item I bought & paid for on 07/07 has been despatched today!

I had a good one on Amazon. Guy bought an item at 9.30pm, then sent an email asking for it to arrive next day. It was work account, so we didn't get it til the next morning."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

Did they send a message to explain late postage?
It once took me over a week to post some items out as there was a death in the family. I emailed all the buyers and they were all really understanding.0 -

You are aren't supposed to give any rating for how quickly the item arrived, just when they dispatched it, if it was later than advertised then by all means mark down.
What I absolutely love about Amazon is their ETAs for marketplace orders, 2 business days to mark as dispatched and then the ETA of the next busniess day - around 10 days later.
On eBay I had a neutral saying 'arrived later than promised date', funny how the word estimated becomes promised and funny how the country being covered in snow didn't lead them to any conclusion as to why the item was late.
The 'have you posted this yet' on a Monday from weekends sales from listings with a 3 day dispatch time really get me down as do the 'please post asap' messages on Checkout. Yes I will post asap but your idea of asap might be different to mine as there is most likely 500 orders before yours to get through!
May favourite was 'please post straight away' from a sale at 5pm on the Friday before the Jubilee weekend, I wonder what stars they left when the item was posted on the following Thursday....In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

Nope. I only got the despatch message after I queried whether he'd posted it yesterday morning.Noli nothis permittere te terere

There is no posting date or other marking on the package. That's the first thing I looked for when I received the item.0
