kitten follows me EVERYWHERE

i have and 8 week old kitten who will not leave me alone. if i walk out of a room he will either sit and stare at the door till i come back or follow me.

he sleeps on me. i try and put him down but he wakes and just comes back. he sleeps right on my chest or under my neck.

and altho i love him dearly i do hope that at some point he will stop doing it as much.

would love to hear everyones ideas, thoughts and suggestions

Ah, dont discourage him yet, he is only a tiny baby, your his mum, he needs your warmth and your heart beat.

Enjoy, it will tail off eventually and then you'll be shouting his name out of the door after midnight when he just wont come home for hours and you really need to go to bed. lol

Let me ask you one thing - would you give him back...............

    No, course you wouldn't

    Accept and enjoy............
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

he does look so adorable when i look down and there he is.

but i dont like him stretching and him thinking hes falling so he digs his claws in me... i look like a pin cushion lol
  • He should have remained with his mother until at least 12 weeks so it's no surprise that he's lonely and wanting to bond with you. The stronger the bond, the easier it will be to get him to come back to you when he goes out for days on end.
  • he's treating you like his mummy - mine used to do this, but now I can't get him to sit still for long enough for many cuddles (unless he's after something, like he's cold/hungry/wants me to open the door and let him out/give him milk etc)!

He'll grow out of it, so make the most of this cuteness while you can!

8 weeks is soo little. I think I'd have him in a baby sling to carry him about in ;).

He sounds like he just needs you like pp's have said as his mommy at the moment.

All joking aside just dont forget and be steady where you put your feet. My 19mo tom cat does this (getting better as he settles in properly) but he has been tripped over a good few times!!

yeh he is sooo tiny. only time hes not with me is when im in bed. hes has been banned from bedroom, cos he kept having accidents on my bed. but hes right outside the door. and he sleeps in his bed (which ive been told is unusual).

but im up early doors, and when hes not sleeping on me, me n hm are playing with his toys on the floor.

i cant get enough of him and hes a pure character.

awww, sounds too cute. Can you post a pic of the little fluffball? I am an official cat slave and one at sleeps on dds bed, and the other on mine, although normally half on half off his blanket. They have their own beds but why on earth would they want to sleep on them?!?!?
