Good morning moneypenny. I woke around 3.30 and finally got up at 5. Done my dishes as they were starting to pile up. Sat with a hot chocolate now... need more sleep!
Happy due date, Marta!
2ba3c, you shouldn't feel funny about posting*hugs*
Pea, I hope that all this draining is making a difference.0 -
Morning ladies!
As with rups it appears that maternity leave gives me less time to post not more!
Congrats to those who've given birth and welcome to all the newbies
AFM have a poorly toddler at the moment who is taking all my time and draining what little energy I have! Utterly exhaustednearly organised for Christmas though which is good, although planning on keeping bits back for when the baby is born so that DD doesn't get too jealous! Well, I can hope!
A few other medical problems here too but don't want to depress the thread on a weekend, so suffice to say they all seem to be under control now.
Hope you're all ok and had a better night's sleep than us! X x0 -
Happy Due Date Marta :j:j:j
Did you call labour ward Rups? What did they say? I think niggles and cramps are all part and parcel of the last few weeks, I feel like I've had them on and off for months!
I'm still here- no progress at all. Never mind .......:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Morning all. Was discharged from labour ward at 7 last night and then chips and chilli and straight to bed - I was sooooo tired!
Drain was at 1030 (my second) and afterwards my body reacted badly - chest pains, lower back pain, stomach cramp - it all kicked off!! They were good though but I was a bit scared as it came on so suddenly. Between 1130 - 1730 contractions went from one every two minutes to one every 15 minutes, once more my amazing body realised it should cook Walnut for a bit longer
Someone asked about the procedure - yep they basically stick a needle in your tummy (next to belly button), connect up a pipe and then start the pump. It feels really weird especially as womb gets smaller. It's a bit nerve wracking as on the screen you can see the needle and then little Walnut really really close but my consultant is excellent.
I can't believe 2.5 weeks ago they took out 2.7 litres and then another 2.5 litres yesterday! But I can breathe now and feel more comfortable and makes it for a more (hopefully) manageable birth.
I'm booked now to be induced (19 Dec - eeeeeek!!!) as they think fluid will increase a lot again in week and a half and it's better for everyone to be on standby. They need doctors there and with it being Christmas they'd rather plan.
Lovely Walnut is a bit of a special case, they have Duodenal Atresia which means tummy isn't connected to gut. So Walnut pees but doesn't process fluid, hence getting bigger. When Walnut is born they will be whisked away and operated on ASAPand then in neonatal care for about 10-15 days. But after that everything should be ok
All a bit scary, BUT it could have been worse - this condition is associated with others but tests show nothing and also it's hard to pick up on scan so I could have gone into labour much earlier, then baby not fed properly, then weak, they they figured out to operate.
Hope it's ok to share babymonster2 I think people here seem supportive with medical stuff so why I've said it now
Anyway, earlier in pregnancy when high fluid I could have tablets to stop baby peeing but they can only give them till 32 weeks. My Amniotic Fluid Index measure was 45 cm yesterday - down to 26 cm now
Rups did you phone maternity ward? I've called a few times and they are always reassuring and you can always ask to go in if you're worried.
Martadz ooh your line of work sounds similar to mine, media & education. I'm still feeling odd about the whole 'losing work identity' thing so can understand why you've done what you have done.
Good luck to all due ladies - anyone else being inducted? Sounds like it could be a long process.
Now LOTS to do before 19th, if I get that far and consultant thinks it might be earlier!

Thank you everyone for the boldie wishes and the link!!!
Mushypeas, I work in education and I'm doing a PhD about the internet and gender.
For some weird reason I cannot see the "thanks" button in all the posts, that's odd.
I slept for hours, yet I don't feel restedI woke up light headed and with a bit of nosebleed. I'll probably have a nap later on!!

Morning everyone!
Good luck for your sweep Jonno!
Happy due date Marta, any signs that baby may appear soon??
I'm another one that thought being off work would mean I would post more but it doesn't seem to be working out that way, ha! Had a bad headache again for the past couple of days which I'm sure has been brought on by my family stressing me out. To cut a long story short my sister has decided to have an elective cosmetic procedure on 18th Feb (4 days before EDD) and will be immobile for at least 2-3 weeks, she's on her own with a 4 year old so my mum is going to be looking after them, not great timing as now I'm not sure what support if any I will receive from my family, but hey, some people like to have all the attention.
Thanks for sharing re your hospital stay MushyPeas, I've never heard of anyone having so much fluid, I'm amazed at the physics of how the fluid keeps growing.
Hope everyone else is ok, can't believe how many ladies we have who are almost ready to pop now, very exciting!I :heart2: saving money0
