Wow! Great pics!! :D It is incredible they are so ... "complete" when they are born... sorry, that sounds silly, I am amazed at the fact that one moment they are inside and kicking your bowels, then they are suddenly outside and you can see a little person staring at you and moving. Your first pic is just amazing, to know that it was taken just a few hours after birth. I would be staring at her and making comparisons between her and my DH & me, lol "this is your nose, this is my chin, this is...".

Savage, thanks for that. I am just very confused with that process. They do not explain it enough imo. Yesterday's midwife kind of rushed the whole explanation as well, they did not measure me either, I know she is engaged but not how much either, only that "she still has to drop a bit more". I am going to try to walk a bit today and see if she goes down more. I also had a look at medical journals, and the only "natural method" that I could find with some proper research done was nipple stimulation and sex (more specifically, the effect of some component of sperm on the cervix). Things such as walking appeared but not to kick start labour, but just to help positioning, which in some cases might help if that was what it was needed. I think I found it at Wiley's journal, I will have a look again and see if I can find it, I am not sure now, I looked at several journals and most of them, as you have said, kept talking about giving chemicals to mimic natural hormones.

    Hello all...

    hope you are all ok.

lovely pics of your lady DDB. i cant wait now. i was also fearing the labour pain etc but i will use that as a vision when i am there and think i am close to seeing my baby.. :) i will def use that as it will calm me down as get very nervous. she is beautiful xxxx

just came on quickly to see how everone was doing? so are sweeps actually normal to have? nct teacher said they were and they help soften the cervix a bit and stuff.

still have a back ache. went for a nice brunch with dh to our local cafe.. one thing i remember from the nct class is in early stages of labour, women tend to get diarrhoea so their systems start emptying everything.. do all women have that? its so weird that at the mo, my bowel movement has def increased. not the runs but normal stuff just more.. as much as i think i am lucky not to have been constipated at any stage of my pregnancy, having to keep going for number twos is annoying me now lol.. sorry tmi..

I drove to town and strolled down to the hair dressers and walked around town. Probably spent the best part of an hour on my feet. By the time I made it back to the car I had quite bad period pains. Sat down for 5 and drove home. Still got pains.

Reckon it's just a coincidence or has the baby moved while I was walking?

Baby might be engaging while you're walking Bamama.

I'm back! So, if your 40+10 appointment says '1-3' they mean it, I arrived at 1 and left at 3! Blood pressure, urine sample, hooked up to the CTG monitor for 20 mins or so, and a scan to check placenta flow, fluid around baby, and size/weight prediction. They also offered a sweep but I said I'd hold off till Monday, which is when I think I'm 40+10 (going in again for more CTG etc...). So we're still holding out for a home birth, all is good with baby except it not wanting to come out!

That mean if I spend more time on my feet, baby might come sooner than sitting on my !!!!?

Oh my that's a long appointment!
