afternoon ladies.. and welcome newbies (carrie and i think i have forgotten another person - sorry :( )

just being so lazy. have some washing up to do but sitting here with dh as he watches the footy and shouting. lol. got to go upstairs and also start putting bubba's clothes etc into the wardrobe and stuff. just feeling so so lazy. we got up late as well but i had to wake up so many times to wee. lol.

very interesting about bf marta. i was told by my manager at work, how when they went to a bf class, all the mw spoke about was 'you have to bf and if you dont then it isnt good (well the underlying message was that you would be a failure).

like ikkle said we just got to go open minded and see what advise is good and what isnt. i am scared of not being able to bf but if i cant, then i cant. there is so much i am clueless about as well for example the waters breaking etc etc. oh well i suppose as everyone is different, we will have to just learn hey? as long as bubs is ok inside..

5 weeks left to ddate as well for me.. so waiting.. last night bubs sat in such an awkward position that i saw the right side of my belly raise up and i started rubbing it as i was uncomfy. :)

well i better get stuff done as later after the match we are off to tescos. groan.

I'm new too! Changing my name... somthing like miserablecow or lazyfatty.

Basically got a row for not washing dishes and stuff from OH. I know I don't work as long now but I just don't have any energy. I'm not sleeping properly and his stupid work alarm went off at half 6... he's not even working today.

Gonna go on a mission and clean. Maybe he'll feel guilty when he sees what cleaning properly looks like.

    Happy due date dizsiebubba :j:j:j.

    Hello everyone!

As Marta said, I want my OH to feed our little one just to give me more space and also because my OH wants to do it!

I will express from the start and I will try my best to follow CLB routine.

Hope you all have a nice weekend and good luck to our boldies :)

bamama, chances are that if you do a deep clean... he will expect a deep clean next time. He asked you to do some cleaning, then you go and do a massive one, showing that you could have done it but maybe you weren't bothered. I would do whatever I can and explain to him that next time he gets pregnant and that way he will know how the energy levels drop. Lol. As my midwife explained to us, right now your body is using all the energy it can to make sure the baby is well looked after and fed. She said even though I was not moving, my energy levels were as low as if I had done a marathon, plus the muscles relax so much with some hormone that you feel quite weak anyway. Don't over do it, because all you will get is feeling more exhausted... but your OH won't feel any guilt out of it unless you get sick because of it... which I would not advise you to try to do!!! From his point of view, washing dishes might be a gentle task, just explain to him that your muscles are not working in the same way they use to and you get out of breath much quicker. Nobody is born with all this information, he probably just doesn't know and you need to tell him how things are. You now need all the help you can get, you are not working less because you fancy watching TV but because your body cannot follow the same rhythm!! Get him to read about exhaustion in pregnancy and the need to sleep and rest if you can. Unfortunately, partners cannot read our minds, so it is easier to just tell them when you can and when you cannot do stuff, no matter how easy it might seem. Some days I have not been able to make the bed, just moving around it and tucking in corners made me feel dizzy. Other days, however, I had the energy to cook a big meal and some dessert. Most of the times the simple task to get the clothes out of the washing machine seems a hard one, I now ask him also to help me with the drying line thing, so he does the bottom racks and I do the top ones. Tell him what you need, chances are he just don't fully know/understand how your body is changing.

Yep, Aida, I would like him to feel involved plus it will give me the chance to rest a bit more. At least I want the choice, I might start breastfeeding and I cope well enough or DH don't mind at all and prefers to do other things, I do not know, but I don't think it is right to go and say categorically "no". As I said, we both were formula fed, it was no biggie and we are ok. In my case I was born at around 32 weeks, so I had no choice because I stayed in the incubator for ages. We are going to try to use only breast milk because it has many advantages, but if it cannot be done, well... it cannot be done, I won't have failed as a mother because of it.

I haven't spoken to my midwife about my plans to bottlefeed but the hospital are so supportive and understanding. I do want to try and give baby the first colostrum etc but the female consultant I saw said that if that doesn't work out and I cant do even that then I can try to hand express and they have pre-made formula in the hospital anyway.

My MIL has taught me not to let anyone bully me into something I'm not comfortable with. How you choose to feed your baby is a very personal choice and no-one has the right to judge you on your decision (just wish I could take my own advice. I always worry what people think! lol).

R.e the nipple confusion, all babies are different, there is no way of telling if they will cope fine with the transition from breast to bottle to breast. No matter which bottles you use. They say 6 weeks as on average that is how long it takes for breast feeding to be established. If you have a baby from birth who latches with no fuss then giving a bottle probably would be fine.

Another thing is, if you're gonna express you need to express when a feed is due, so for the sake of naps etc, it's not practical, but if it's just to let partner feed then it'l work. To start missing feeds before 6 weeks can mess your supply up slightly.

This is coming from someone who expressed exclusively btw so I'm not a breast feeding nazi or anything but just what I've read/figured out myself. Expressing to me was just so time consuming, if I could have got him on the boob I'd never have even bothered until much later I don't think. xx

bamama dont go mad cleaning. i agree with what was said above. :) if you have energy conserve it. i try what i can but wont go overboard as with my dh he will def think 'oh she can do it so let her'. i have a go at dh because he knows i struggle washing dishes and he uses plates left right and centre and doesnt think of re-using one if he used it for say biscuits.. grr. they dont have a clue how we clean and def dont have a clue how our energy levels are so low at the mo. men!! lol

today bubba is sitting more on my right side again and i actually cant walk properly. i am in pain, so was talking to baby to move to left a bit. think lovely one listened to me as i am a bit better now but can still feel bubba. bless him/her little thing. :)

well we went to tescos and couldnt find parking so we left it lol went into the petrol pump bit, and bought some sandwiches and ate them like weird people in the corner. lol. then we drove about in surrey seeing some leafy bits and saw the in laws quickly. on the way back unfort, we had a row as i told dh about my aunts function in two weeks time, and he had said yes (i know he doesnt listen to me) so when i started talking about it he moaned that he didnt want to go. grrr.. anyway its in ayelsbury so i might not feel like doing in 2 weeks times. men..

tomorrow we have a get together at my cousins house who lives near my mum so am looking forward to that as can see mum plus my nieces. then dh is taking me watch twilight. yay! :)

    stuffing samosas now hehe
