Oh and I did something bad the other day and ate undercooked beef. For some reason I thought it was ok, double checked before I ate it and it was on the avoid list but was already on my plateso i told myself it would be fine. Then afterwards read a bit more and realised it was due to the risk of toxoplasmosis eeek. Will mention it to my midwife next week and see if i need testing or anything
Right I'm off to do some baking
I wouldn't worry about it too much, they've changed the "rules" on this one recently. I was pregnant at the end of last year (sadly had a mc) and it was fine to eat rare meat then according to the NHS but I noticed they'd changed it by the time I was pregnant again a few months later!0 -
Huge congrats to Snowbean :beer::beer:
Oh and Ikkle! Sorry, I can't remember anything at the moment. Work are going to be glad to get rid of me in a few weeks!0 -
Thanks colli - i wonder whether it was on the list when I first checked it then. I guess if there was a high risk of me getting it from eating pink steak then i would have probably become immune several years ago. Plus i had a cat when i was younger so supposedly am likely to be immuneProud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0

Congrats Snowbean!
I'm in the twenties! Yeah! And did my hospital bag at the weekend. It's much easier when you know you'll be having a section and can leave out all the labouring stuff and add some extra pyjamas for a longer hospital stay. Last time I was being induced and had 2 days and nights in hospital before I even had DD, so was running out of PJs by the fifth night in hospital!0 -
moneypuddle was having an induction yesterday, wasn't she? I hope everything went fine and you are now resting!!!
Good luck Twinkle!! Since the section was this morning, I am assuming you have already seen your little one's face!! That is so exciting! I cannot wait to that!
Gosh, that will move the list two spaces... I am on my twenties again!! LolQuit smoking *1st January 2010*

Well there l am, fourth on the list....feels like I've been pregnant for c.83 years. Been in hospital today for baby heart monitoring, then they decided to check my heart and then my.legs for blood clots. All fine fortunately. Midwives said if babys movements vary try having a cold drink before calling in, but only wait 30 mins or so for it to make a difference. I have a VBAC appt next Thurs so l will be booked in for an induction then if there is no sign. Although my mum called and said she thought l wouldn't have long to wait - and this eve l do seem to be having mild contractions..witchy woo!I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Hi everyone.
Well i thought I might be better at keeping up on here once i was on mat leave but i was wrong lol!
Can't quite believe I am no. 9 on the list - 12th Nov is still ages away isn't it!?
Cake that is very exciting! I've not had any BHs yet but am really hoping my little one is nice and comfy in there and stays put a while yet as we are not ready - but then I'm not sure I'll ever feel completely ready. I usually work well to deadlines so its really weird not knowing when your deadline actually is!

You will be ok hun, you shouldn't need any testing its more a case of your more prone to food poisoning etc when pregnant. I've eaten rare steak, seafood, salami etc whilst pregnant xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

She will just discuss what happens when baby is here like what appointments and screenings baby will have and when. Talk about support in the local area for groups like breast feeding etc and possibly give you babies red book. xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Congratulations Ikkle on the birth of your son ... I want to know how on earth you got them to let you out after 24 hours??!!
Some tips would be appreciated .. with my c-sections I was kept in 6 days with the first (but baby was in special care for a few days) and 3 days with my second (perfectly healthy.) This pregnancy, I want to be out as soon as possible as I will have 2 other children at home to look after.
Wishing you a quick recovery and enjoy every moment as it will go so very quickly x0
