rjh how are you this morning? Any more pains?

Well rubbish night for me. My hips are starting to give me more problems now. I couldn't put any weight on my left leg at all last night, so had to get chairs put in the middle of the living room and kitchen so I could lean on them in order to get around. Getting up the stairs was so painful, how are you supposed to get up the stairs with one useable leg? I ended up going to bed early as I just couldn't take the pain of moving about, and then spent most of the night trying to get comfortable.

Hmm, I did try to edit my response to Student last night as I thought I was a bit harsh on her hubby, but for some reason it's not showing the edit. I seem to be very hormonal and stroppy with everything and everyone the last couple of days. I'm driving hubby crazy.

Maternity pads - definitely buy loads when you can. I couldn't believe the amount I went through after having my two, I had never seen blood like it. And normal sanitary towels are pretty useless against the onslaught. I also bought loads of the disposable knickers second time round, as I can remember hubby being given a carrier bag of blood soaked knickers to take home and wash after having my daughter. His face was a picture :rotfl:

    Morning all,

Day off today, whoo hoo! Then I have just 12 working days left. Can't wait to properly nest and put the cot up. Have just vacuumed upstairs and cleaned the bathroom, not bad for 8 o'clock!

I'm after some reusable breast pads too, the only decent ones I have seen are the little lambs so if anyone has any other recommendations I would be grateful. Most other ones I've come across don't have great reviews.

Huge problem with our pram and car seat. Does anyone have the Babystyle Oyster? We bought the Oyster and the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix back in May and since then I have been trying to find the adapters so that the car seat can fit on the chassis but there is a stock shortage and nowhere has them! Everywhere says available to pre-order for end of Aug/early Sept, I bet then baby will come first and I will be stuck! So if anyone stumbles across any please let me know!
  • Ikkle - thanks for info on FH measurements. Not too worried but hoping for a small to med bubba and not a big one! less to push out :)

KatyLiz - how many packs of maternity pads would you suggest? I've bought 4x packs of 10 so far. We are 5 mins from a huge Sainsburys but want to make sure got enough for first 24 - 48 hrs. Wasnt going to use the disposable knickers just my old ones which im not worried about chucking.

((hugs)) student mrs! I hope everything settles for you soon.

    Glad you're feeling better rj

Re maternity pads, the NHS video if what to pack in your hospital bag says to pack about 24 pads. I guess it's better to take too many than not enough. I know after my last mc I used the ones the at the hospital and I went through quite a few initially.

Woke up feeling snuffly this morning but I just can't stay in bed past about 8:30 as my hips are just too sore so now I'm sitting on the comfy chair in the living room watching tv.

    xx

    morning ladies :)

DH and I sorted out the details of his paternity leave last night, so he's sending the forms off to HR. 2 weeks PL, and then 3 days of holiday/working at home to do part time for 2 weeks at least. Because of when Beanie is due, it looks like he won't work a full week between them coming and Christmas! :j (Unless Beanie is naughty and comes a month early like it's Daddy did  Hopefully not, as I was 2 weeks late before my Mum was induced, and then not born for another 2 days :o so it might even out to being on time!)

I've sorted out my leave details with my boss, just waiting to get my MATB1 next week so I can send it in. I'm going to 4 days a week from 21st September, and finishing on 19th October. Weeks holiday then ML until August 2013! It seems really close now, 13 weeks to go after this week, and I have 1 BH and 6 days of holiday in that time, so only 58 working days  No idea how I'm going to get everything I need finished by then, things need to start going more smoothly in the lab :(

    Morning all,

Well after the high of last night, I've brought back down to earth with a bump this morning as I got a text from my sister to say contact her ASAP, which is always a worrying thing to read as my sister rarely texts me, and found out my Dad was arrested for getting drunk and assaulting my Mum last night  (luckily she is only slightly bruised and shaken, but I'm going over for moral support). Have also got to help her move my Nana to a new nursing home this afternoon. Stressful day ahead. :( Sorry to be on a downer, I just needed to tell someone, and you're all such good listeners.

Off to have a shower and get a couple of bits and pieces done while I wait to hear back from her about the plan for this morning.

Hugs to all who need or want them.

    sexymouse xx
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Morning ladies!

Savage thanks for the link to the bumbo - I am Midlands way though so might be a bit of a trek to collect! We're prob going to wait and see if we have a boy or a girl and then we'll either borrow the one that's been offered or source a diff colour from somewhere else. I wouldn't have a problem with baby boy sitting in a pink chair but OH is really against it!

Ikkle I am soooo jealous that you are getting such fab things to test! I tried to get on a panle with another magazine but I wasn't far gone enough at the time and they only recruit at certain times of the year!

MrsStudent Sorry to hear OH is being difficult. I;m not really sure what to say to be honest, but just sendinf you lots of hugs. Blokes can be very funny creatures at times; I hope that it is his depression that is making him feel/act this way and that he can get some help so he can get back on track and be supportive for you.

jjbargaingal I was looking for birth plans the other daya nd came across these two - think I will use a combination of both! http://www.babydolly.co.uk/downloadarea.htm http://www.hipp.co.uk/uploads/documents/expert%20advice/pregnancy/my-birth-plan.pdf
I wouldn't bother with the Cow and Gate one - didn't think much to that one to be honest!

Well, got home last night to find that the decorator has pretty much painted everywhere except the kitchen - and it's the wrong colour! I kid you not! Not his fault - he used the paint that we left him which was one of those that you get mixed up specially. We bought a sample of the colour we wanted last week and tried it out and loved it - went back to B&Q on Monday to buy the paint and ordered the exact same shade and took it home. Decorator has put it on the walls and it is not the same at all! It is not even close! So have phoned B&Q up this morning and logged a complaint. They said they will be in touch within the next 24 hours so we'll see what they have to say. Ah well, worse things happen at see!

Really fed up with work now - I usually love my job but they are starting to sideline me because they don't see the point in giving me any projects when I am only going to be here for another 6 weeks or so. In the meantime, I have to put up with whinging engineers - "We need new weatherproofs cos it's raining....." "...have i really got to go to this site, it's hours away!" "....why can;t I get paid overtime on this job..." MAN UP! Good grief, they are all worse than kids. They should know better than to try a pregnant womans patience!

I sound like I'm in a really bad mood today don't I? I'm really not, I'm actually quite happy, lol!
