Hmmm ladies, completely OT, but it's our anniversary soon and the gifts are apparently (no kidding) sugar or iron (!). I normally get hubby something vaguely related to the 'recommended' list as I think it's fun. Although this year have been so busy I've forgotten till now.
Any ideas? I'm thinking there could be some good iron options out there (wrought iron, cast iron) but no ideas what they are. We've recently moved into our own house for the first time so could get inventive if my mind was working I'm sure...
Something for the garden maybe? Wrought iron bench or hanging basket hooks? Or maybe something like a chocolatier experience day, if he's into cooking? It's so hard to think of things for some of the more random gifts. For our wood anniversary last year DH gave me a wooden spoon. I was secretly raging until I opened my card and found that I also had a cupcake decorating course to go with it! :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Big congratulations Bellola, sorry it wasn't what you hoped for, hope you all get home soon and are enjoying mummy cuddles.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Yes waxing definitely hurts more in pregnancy (probably cos I also used to be able to take an ibuprofen half an hour before I went pre-pregnancy, whereas you're not allowed to take this in pregnancy). I found that it took me a bit longer to heal too, but think that's cos my iron levels were low last time and that's also a factor in how quickly you heal. However, I'd rather be tidy down there for my own peace of mind rather than for any other reason, and I can't do it myself as I can't see or get the angles right.
Savage have you tried looking on ebay for maternity coats. I don't know what your budget is, but I'd imagine that it's not that big with only 3 months left, but jojo maman baby do some nice maternity coats on their website, although they are a bit pricey - I suppose you could always sell it on though.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
What year are you on savage? Me and DH had our 7th anniversary yesterday, and our traditional thing was wool. We couldn't afford to get any presents anyway, but he offered to knit me a sock if I really wanted something :rotfl:
And Rups - you are terrible for making me hungry! I love key lime pie, now I've got another craving going on!!
I can't find any coat to fit, and it's starting to get chilly on the school run now. I've just got my waterproof, but its so thin. There's no way I'm wasting money on a big coat when I'm due 3 weeks tomorrow, so I'm opting to shiver!Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
sorry katyliz. lol. well that recipe i sent wasnt one he followed so am wondering whether he did bake it or not. grr. why do i do that to myself? i get greedy and then worry afterwards. stupid me.
agree on the coat there. would love to not spend too much. i will look on ebay but need to try, thats the only problem.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Big congrats to bellola and kittycat. Those are fab names. DH and I can't agree on ours at all. Plenty of time for those discussions!
Afternoon all! Have just scoffed my lunch and could do with a nap. My hopes about my PGP not being as bad this time round have been dashed with a rapid onset of symptoms in the last two days. Sigh. It will get worse before it gets better but all worth it in the end. Must look out my crutches.
Think I'll leave it a couple of months and then start adding on breast pads and stuff to the grocery list unless I see a good offer (no Morrisons here or even Waitrose! Lol - must read more carefully). I used the Tommee Tippee ones last time - they were really good. And easy to get hold of - the lansinoh ones weren't so easy to find. But have to agree - the cream was a must for me. Only needed to use a bit before I stopped and everything was fine.0 -
I'm so hungry today
I had a large breakfast (porridge, a yoghurt and a babybel) and have just eaten my lunch (bagel, sausage rolls, 2 bits of fruit and an angel cake bar) and my tummy is still rumbling
I don't have anything else to eat at work apart from more cake bars, which aren't exactly filling! Also really feeling the cold, I need to get the maternity coat I bought in the sales in March down from the loft and dig out all my big cardies! I want to put the winter duvet on the bed, but DH won't let me

I think most recipes for keylime pie require the egg to be baked Rups as it forms a sort of custard with the condensed milk so needs to be cooked to thicken. The only desserts other than chocolate mousse that I've discovered can be made with raw egg is tiramisu, hence my warning before going to Italy on your hols.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

LittleMoog, I keep a fleecy jumper and a hot water bottle in my desk drawer at work and currently am using both! Funny really as I have been quite warm recently.
I'll probably be hungry in an hour or so - as usual.0
