Haha, yup Ikkle, I have scary hair, scary face and just lounging in my pjs watching maternity ward :o At least you've got all your drawers sorted for bubba already. I've washed about half the clothes we have, but haven't sorted anything into sizes yet. Also still need to bring in chest of drawers from the shed (and clean it), put my chair together, paint the cot and give our bedroom and massive sorting out as there is just heaps of stuff all over the place. Thought we would have time to decorate our room too (currently the walls are orange ) but starting to accept that maybe that's just not gonna happen...sigh. To be fair though, nothing will happen at all if I don't stop lazing around!

How are you now? Hope you're feeling a bit more relaxed now? You've seemed to have had a lot of stress and worry lately.

Oh, i have hips and pelvis pains since two weeks ago, is anybody using a maternity support belt or band ?

I had really bad SPD last time round (ended up on crutches by about 22 weeks) and the physio had me trussed up in tubigrip to support my bump, a support band to support my pelvis and hips - the baby hated it and was trying to break out from inside, I was spring loaded with so much elastic that I feared if I sat down too fast I'd launch myself into orbit.

They might work for some people but for me they were pain in the butt territory (and that's before you add in getting the damned things on and off and negotiating going for a pee!)

With whoever mentioned slings (although I suspect you're otherwise occupied now) - when you can get yourself along to a slingmeet, try them all out and save the expense of buying ones that don't work for you - for what it's worth we did Moby Wrap (although there's a learning curve with them) until she got a bit heavier and now I use a connecta carrier - still on my front at the moment with her at 13lb 3 or whatever she is and it's not uncomfortable - but I'll probably switch her onto my back in a month or so to allow for bump expansion room (the best way to have the belt for them is more under yer boobs than on your waist anyway so it should be OK for a few months more) - at one point I discovered I was getting a bit of a reputation locally as that bonkers woman with no pushchair (I actually own two - and one's a decent-named "status" pram!). I just like her snuggled up and I took her to a wedding a few weeks ago - wrapped her in the Moby for the evening reception and she didn't stir the entire evening!

Ooh, I really want a moby wrap :D they seem so expensive though? I just like the idea of being able to carry Bean close to me and all snuggled up. Having said that, I did finally order a pram on Saturday, which apparently is in stock so should be delivered soon, so I guess I don't really need a wrap? No, no I definitely do, I NEED one :D

Snowbean - there's a Facebook group called "Slings and Things - FSOT and advice" where they usually come up second hand for about £25ish... or Victoria Slinglady does stretchy wraps (similar to Moby but the fabric's a little bit thinner) cheaper. Because they've got a relatively limited useful lifespan (you wouldn't want to be carrying a larger child in one) they tend to crop up a lot.

I'm ok, I go through fits and stages of anxiety at the minute, I can be fine and then an hour later convinced it's all going to go wrong again. Just need to keep focused and try carry on, there's only a few weeks left either way.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Thanks dizzi, I'll see if I can have a look at that page.

Ikkle, glad you're feeling ok at the moment. Try to stay positive. Like you say, you're almost there, not long to go now. Actually, I can't really believe it's only 6 weeks to my due date. Was saying to OH about how Bean could be born in just 3 weeks time and would still be classed as full term, and how I couldn't believe that was only 3 weeks away, and can't really get my head around it. He was just like "3 weeks - yeah, and, what's your point"

I know that it's unlikely that it would be born so soon, but still. I can't really even get my head around the idea that it's only really a maximum of 8 weeks until we'll have a baby to look after. I mean, I know I'm pregnant all that, but I find it really hard to picture us actually having a baby at the end of it all. I just can't seem to visualise it

    I hope everyone is OK.

    Labour vibes to the boldies!

    Good luck Kitten & BCS!

Has anyone else who is fairly early on (I'm 25 weeks) got sore bits? I didn't get sore bits until I was overdue with DD, but I've had it for the last couple of weeks. Just like pressure down below. Last time I assumed it was because she had engaged, but not sure this time.

I kind of get what you mean about the idea that in X weeks maximum you'll have a baby - I was starting to feel like that last time but then she kind of snuk up on us and popped out at 33 weeks! In a bizarre way (considering I had such an awful time with the birth and the hospital stay) I'm kind of glad I didn't get that end of pregnancy time to dwell on things and stress about it and just got pretty much launched into it with a vengeance (I could have done with straightforward things like feeding without a NG tube and the like though!) - it was just a popping down to get checked out with the assumption I'd be told everything was fine - to getting a steroid injection and discussing prognosis and treatment for 33 weekers with a NICU doctor within the space of a few hours! Kind of sad that this time I've mentally adjusted the gestation of human babies and have 35 weeks as a "I'll be soooo flipping happy if we get to there" goal though (35 weeks was the point where she suddenly clicked everything with the feeding and went from taking 10mls of a feed by mouth to taking a full 48ml feed and having her tube taken out within the space of 2 days).

Hell the idea of 37 weeks - I'd grab that with both hands after the preemie rollercoaster! (Takes flipping hours to get around Asda with a 4lb baby - by the end of it I was considering hanging a sign off the end of the pram - "born X weeks early, X lb, no no reason, mind yer own parsnip about the breastfeeding thing" - I think I know about every little old dear who was born prematurely within a 10 mile radius by now - they've ALL told me their life stories!)

Mind you I still haven't had viability confirmed on this one yet - scan next week when I should know if it's developed or is a missed miscarriage - my gut instinct (which has been 100% right so far - I've never been able to mentally visualise myself with the baby in the pregnancies I've lost) is that it's OK, but by the time they scan me I should be 9 weeks (I just seem to have so little in common with the 12 week thread girls - I get bog all first trimester symptoms that I seem to have taken to hanging around in here) and I know by then even with my arkward innards they'll be able to see a heartbeat or not.

I'm such an impatient person and Feb seems like an eternity away :o

Doesn't it just! I'm due Jan 30th and it seems an age away.

Until I think about it - Sept is madly busy for me at work and Oct I want to be getting out and about to see friends after weeks of tractor isolation while I still feel good. Nov is holiday time (any suggestions gratefully appreciated!) Then it's dec and Xmas and before I know it I'm sure it'll be January and I'll be on here going "pram, I need a pram?!"

Spoke to my midwife friend today who reassured me that bouncing around on a tractor is ok so I'm pleased with that. She's married to a farmer too so knows exactly what I'm doing. Think I'll feel a lot better after the anomoly scan - still don't really want to bond or buy anything just in case there's things wrong.

Ordered my first pair of maternity jeans to arrive tomorrow as had a little incident on my tractor today - totally undid my jeans for the comfort factor but forgot when I jumped off to talk to a neighbour!

Also - I'm going to a dinner dance in Oct - I'll be about 22 weeks and think I'll need a new dress. Will I be showing by then (it's my first, I've got a bump at the moment but only I can see the bump, everyone else just thinks I'm fat) and if so - any suggestions for a nice dress? I like Isabella Oliver ones but I reckon they'll only look good if you're a skinny minnie and I was a 12/14 before I got pg.

    On a good note......IT'S RAINING!:T:T:T:T

So I get to go home, have a takeaway, see and cuddle my dh for the first time in weeks and sleep for a good 10 hours - whoo hoo!
